How are YOU preparing for The Taken King?
So this is just a thread to share ideas on how to prepare for the upcoming dlc...
Just post what you plan to do/ have done already, and see what others post
I'm just maxing out all my marks, so I will have 600 across all 3 characters, and making sure I have at least 200 of each material- only need a little more spin metal.
Also, completing 10 5000 xp bounties on each character, and when ttk drops, planning to use a focused light, and hand them all in- after the nightfall of course.
So how are you preparing?

Awake for 18 hours, sleep for 6. That's how I'm preparing :)

I'm really doing the same thing I've been doing. Trying to help friends get better weapons and gear. Still have friends without a lot of exotic gear and weapons.

Marks and materials for faction rep other than that I'm done grinding.

Got xb1 preview invite from a friend gonna spend less time on Destiny and start playing some oldies!

Whether or not they will be reset is unknown, but if i had to guess i would assume they will be. I will have maxed marks either way just incase they arent reset, but just warning you that they will most likely be reset

Your marks are being consolidated so you may not even have 600 any more. You won't be running through the story mission and suddenly doing nightfall within an hour or two either. Also, you will only be able to belong to one faction so leveling up all factions will be a waste of time as well. The grind to be "prepared" won't be very useful with the changes coming.

4 RepliesWell, after reading what little I have read, I am: making sure that I have all my weapons currently at 365 on all 3 characters. Already have marks and such maxed. Making sure my reputation with each faction on all three characters is at least 3 Finishing the Eris Morn questline on my Hunter -- won't be able to rank up until they fix a few things for the bounties, though (mutter mutter) Working on getting additional exotics of certain types -- again. After deleting duplicates for space, looks like I will need them in the near future. Fretting about the aesthetic appearance on all my characters -- I worked hard to get them to a point that I liked the look of them, and my warlock is the one I worry about most as all the new stuff since vanilla has really made me want to barf. Ranking up in the Queen's stuff on all three characters -- hoping to reach rank 7 on all of them at least. Seeking a solar hand cannon for all three characters Making sure that all my weapons are one's I am pleased with -- one in each energy type of each weapon group for each character, excepting sidearms. Fusion rifles are vaulted.

Wild parties with awoken cheerleaders, including games like 'find the engram', and 'is your hard light showing'. Also adding that new sound system to my ship, and planning a surprise video montage for my dinklebots leaving doo.

4 RepliesNothing no point..our legendary gear and gun's are gonna be useless.I'm on now because I'm almost on the next rank for dead orbit .if I don't get the shader this time I'm not playing until the dlc .not saying the shader will be the reason I stop playing. I just don't see a point in grinding anymore when the whole game will change lol

Doing a ton of strikes for packages from Rahool!!! Doing the 10 bounties and gonna use the focused light thing, maxing marks, getting 200 material each for every character and 200 of each in vault, saving those things that give you 200 glimmer i got over 200 in the vault right now, and im maxing out exotics and weapons that i like and would seem useful in the new raid from the tiny info we have right now.

I intend to sharpen up the PvP skills between now and when TTK drops; so PvP will likely be my focus. I need to improve in that facet of my game.
