My internet isn't good, and I don't benefit from it in any way. Is there a chance that I will still be banned?

They're lying, you can but not will be banned. If you happen to do good while your connection is bad for some matches then yea you can be banned, it's what happened to me, anyone who says I was cheating don't bother, I don't care cause I know I wasn't and I don't need your approval to know I wasn't cheating

No, Bungie goes through rigorous research before banning players. You'll be fine as long as you are playing by the rules.
