No, Metal gear actually dates back all the way to Nintendo days, though I think only one of them ever made it America. In the 90's they relates Metal Gear Solid in PS. Which is technically the third game in the serie, this is the game you played on gamecube. The M9 that you like (lots of fun btw) was first introduced in Sons of Liberty in PS2. Lol. As you should. Still, thought you might like to see just how deep the series goes. If you read up on the story lines from the previous Metal Gear games, the story makes a lot more sense as well.
