The Weapons of Sorrow and Toland's Attempt | a highest rated post!

Hello and welcome guardians! This is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig, and I'm here to give you a little insight into the Hive magics and what their corruption has led to. That's right, everyone's favorite hand cannon, Thorn; scout...I mean pulse rifle Bad Juju; and pea shooter Necrochasm! Let's start this off with Thorn. The Thorn is a Weapon of Sorrow, the insignia of which could be found on the hammer of the hand cannon when being held, but it wasn't always such. Before Dredgen Yor went to Luna and was corrupted, possibly by Xyor, he was a noble man. He stood proudly in light, he was a beacon of hope, his gun...was still a Rose. On Luna, during the Great Disaster, Dredgen Yor's fate forever changed. His beautiful cannon had become corrupt, a once weapon of light had been meddled with by the Hive. This corruption bled into his mind, his soul, and his light; but this story isn't about him, it's about Thorn. I recently acquired Thorn myself, and yes I'm a terror in the crucible, and I noticed something odd. I originally thought the stream of black-green that marked the trajectory of the weapons "thorns" was a part of Mark of the Devourer, but it isn't. It's inherently there. Now, I have Husk of the Pit, but not Eris rank 3 or Crux. So I had to turn to YouTube to confirm my theory. Necrochasm also has that unique trajectory, even though it actually has an Arc element. Now why would it be the green tint instead of blue? Simple, as I'm sure you all see where I'm going with this, it's a weapon of sorrow and whatever Hive magics made that so caused it's unique pattern. So we have two Weapons of Sorrow, and then there's Bad Juju. I know what you're thinking, Anon, Juju has that insignia that Thorn does! Doesn't that mean it's a Weapon of Sorrow? No, or at least I don't think so. I think this was Toland's attempt at making a Weapon of Sorrow, but Warlock he may be...Wizard he is not. The Bad Juju was originally a Scout rifle, most easily compared to the MIDA Multi-Tool, now I don't mean to say MIDA became Juju, just that the same frame of it was. This is why the weapon, although great, doesn't share that unique trajectory. So the question really is, what brought Toland to the creation of Juju? Who did he study that he was still able to come so close to creating a Weapon of Sorrow? And if he could have come the close, could there have been more between the two? Could that be truly why he was exiled? Consultation with the enemy could not be allowed after all. But what if, what if he truly did get that close to the Hive? Would they protect him? A good point brought up by King Hutch IV
To me, the real question is why was Bad Juju not made into a weapon of sorrow by the hive, given Tolands ambitions. It could be that they saw him more as a threat, someone learning their secrets with more of a motive to defeat them/steal their power. It could just be that they never set up the meeting. Who knows on that one
. AnonPig's Theories Archived Thankyou all for reading, this is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig!

 • *I wrote a detailed answer to what Bad juju really is, but i sadly clicked on another page :(, so this is a summary* Bad Juju is a collection of plenty of things, Hive magics, Ahamkaras mysterious void, and a source of light and dark. Thus leading the perk: String of Curses. Toland attempts to imitate The darkness and other beings mechanics and knowledge into his own. This fits Toland as he, himself had been exiled. In the Grimoire Toland had mentioned than rather making weapons out of idea, why not an understanding of evil and light? This lead to everyone thinking Toland going crazy. Alas...Mad Warlock. Bad Juju is not a Weapon of Sorrow, but it does have that element to it. Bad Juju is a weapon wavering that devours light and dark. 'There must be a structured, mechanical explanation for this weapon's hunger for combat. There must be. But none has been found.'
