You get 9 items total. (not including the VIP stuff)
Each item costs right around $2.22 or so.
Now look at the CoD microtransactions.
One exo suit costs $1.99.
Sounds like a fair price to me.
Edit: Go look at the Steam community market and check out the prices for some gun skins for Counter Strike.

1 Reply1) Destiny (original release, full game) = $60 TTK ("major" expansion) + emotes = $60 Bungie called TTK a "major" expansion. How does an expansion plus cosmetics = same cost as a full game? 2) The Dark Below (expansion I) = $20 House of Wolves (expansion II) = $20 Collectors edition add-ins (whatever the final contents are) = $20 How do the cosmetics and "throw-ins" = the same cost as the full expansions? I am just a little confused but in my personal opinion the price points for the TTK content is off. In my opinion, should be: $30 TTK expansion. $5 collectors edition content. In my opinion, Collectors edtion that includes the original game, TDB, HoW, TTK, TTK content = $100 (basically get the new content for FREE!!)

Actually kind of happy about this

3 RepliesDid anyone not notice this part of the update?
We’re actively working to make the digital content from the Collector’s Edition available in a $20 upgrade bundle (suggested retail price), available on 9/15/2015. If you purchase a stand-alone version of Destiny: The Taken King, or already have, you'll be able to pick up the digital items as soon as they are available.
Am I reading this wrong? It says you can get the digital items if the preorder TTK you get the digital items.
I want this dlc for free my reasoning? I bought the original limited edition the cost of that? £80 it was also $80 in the US. Now in the UK £80 = $125.98 That's an additional $45.98. So by my reasoning I've already paid for it. The funny thing about this I looked at the price for TTK the day after announcement on the xbox one store it was priced at £27.99 look two days later £40 £40=$63.30 Let's do some pricing here that is fair for example Fallout 4 Standard edition £42.00 $59.99 Pip-Boy Edition £100 $120 Hmmmm GG Bethesda And I looks like Shaftavision and their pegboys Bungie will continue to shaft us and will most likely charge us £20 for this collectors edition upgrade.

Amd slyrim had almost.infite gameplay for 60€

7 RepliesFirst off: The three "exclusive weapons" are only time exclusive until January 2016. Thus it's basically six items you're purchasing - that's 3.33$ each item. However, do you really think that six, more or less cosmetic, items have the same value as all the content from the first or second expansion? TDB wasn't worth 20$ and you think THIS IS WORTH 20$? ARE YOU FUÇKING INSANE?

1 ReplyNow in UK we pay £20.. So $31 that's way more.
-
So now we're supporting micro-transactions? No no no no no. -blam!- that
-
2 RepliesI'm confused the dlc itself is $40. The $20 extra is optional, but gives you the new dances and class items right? Can someone clarify?
-
thank you for pointing out cs go. skins are a thing in the game that you can get but arent needed at all (just like this 20$ cosmetics pack OMG NO WAY) and there are guns up there that sell for thousands of dollars. but hey nobody is on there forum crying out valve is screwing them because a souviner FN dragon lore is over 5k usd
-
7 RepliesSo ttk is still $40? And if I want the extras I got to pay $20 more for a total of $60 on a dlc package?
-
Not a word on the mark up on price from dollars to pounds . Scum thieves and their appeasement bullcrap about the special little dittys added on that you have to pay even more for is frankly outrageous. You can keep your taken king .
-
Hey look at the WoW mount prices. It's like 15-20 dollars for a mount. That is very expensive for pretty much one thing that is pretty much cosmetic
-
3 RepliesAny new player can pay 80 for it all... you just have to pay 60 on top of the 100 you've already paid
-
1 ReplyThe people complaining should look at evolves skins. I'd enjoy seeing them cry salty tears...
-
Yup. Everyone is going to complain though because they want it free with their $40 TTK download. I still think that the collectors edition is the best though. But that's just my opinion

1 Replyone game's overpriced pixels does not justify another game's overpriced pixels. personally i dont care if its $20 because it isnt a BiS gun or armor, its cosmetic stuff.
-
Finally someone with a brain. I thought all hope was lost.
-
Lol wait till they see the price of knives on cs ;)

1 ReplyNot rly

4 RepliesThey should toss in the exclusive quest from the Red Bull promotion. Save me the trouble of having to buy some ass-tasting energy drink, and I'll have no problem whatsoever with dropping an extra $20 bucks.
-
4 RepliesHonestly, if you're paying 2 bucks for a gun skin you're being shafted in CoD as well. It's not just Destiny, people HAVE to stop buying this crap. Micro transactions, games being cut up to sell DLC later, skinpacks, retailer exclusives....it's ALL GARBAGE. Stop supporting it. And it's not only video games. We're being shafted at the movie theater, the grocery store, coffee shops and other 'specialty items" stores. The market is out there to -blam- all of us. Too bad not enough people are willing to stand up and speak with our wallets.
-
Comparing one Activision game with another. Lmao
-
2 RepliesI don't even understand all the complaining. Oh wait yes I do. It's the forums. 98% of people do nothing but complain.
-
Lol. Really? $20 for crap class items and emotes. Total waste of money. That costs just as much as one of the first two dlc. About same content though. I'm baffled how most of the player base will spend $60 (a new game) on dlc and crap items even after bungie/activision said -blam!- you to all of us and are trying to play clean up.
