I felt compelled to point out that games like Skyrim give you easily ten times the content for a $30 expansion, $10 less than the base TTK price.
[i][b]DeeJ: Simple question for you; come September 15th 2015 are you reducing Destiny's DLC on XBL/PSN to the $5-$10 range and the base Destiny game down to $10? If not you are forcing some day one players to buy TDB and/or HoW for $20-$35/$40 and then charging them $40 additionally for TTK. This is my major issue. It's price gouging. I'd appreciate it if you or someone at Bungie would settle this issue.

Additional info in! Someone has unearthed E3 video footage from 2013 when Destiny was first revealed. ([url]https://youtu.be/uHhR3kkf1uQ[/url]) Watch it yet? If not you really should since it shows the 3 "[b]new[/b]" emotes (clap was confirmed in Luke Smith interview). [b]E3 2013[/b] people! This was even more content ripped out of vanilla Destiny to be sold off as DLC but this time it's behind a $40 premium edition paywall.

[u][b]Additional info per weekly update:[/b][/u] Bungie is selling the digital goods from the collector's edition for $20 USD. That's the same price increase for the disc version of vanilla to Collector's Edition but doesn't come with the physical items (worth much more than some token emotes, shaders, and class items) that new players get for the same price increase. Thoughts?

What I dont like is: The price of the Legendary edition compared to the prices of everything in it (if bought seperately). 70 for edition 65 for base game 40 for TTK 35 for TDB and HoW 140 for the lot. So it can be: (based on current prices subtracted from edition) 5 for TDB, HoW and TTK 35 for base game and TTK 30 for base game, TDB and HoW The price of TTK and its various editions in "foreign currencies". $40 =/= £40. And I heard the Australians got f***ed over too. The euro isnt so bad. $40 = €~45 And the fact that, since TTK is $40, that is the same price (basically) as TDB and HoW. Therefore it should have content more than (preferably) or equal to those two combined. And so far (I know its three months away) it doesn't look like it would live up to that expectation. Edit: I dont care about cosmetics or emotes or whatever.

I was going to buy it even though I was very iffy about the price tag. I play with a group of friends and we have a ton of fun together so we were aiming on buying it. But this interview and their pricing ploy made me sick to my stomach. I made it clear that I won't be buying it.

4 RepliesHonestly, the extra miscellaneous cosmetic content and the contention surrounding it are distracting from the only thing that truly matters. The taken king is £40 pounds. And I'd be okay with that except Bungie and their mouthpieces are really good at giving us abstract measures of content and quality by throwing around vague adjectives such as 'it's enormous'. I've had my fill of promises, false advertising, cut content and extortionate prices from the orobouros, corporate circle jerk that is Bungievision. So we should all just slow down on the debate and do something very simple. Wait and see. Don't endlessly discuss the pros and cons. Just do something that this twitch trigger, instant gratification generation has serious trouble doing. Don't pre order. All this debate is pointless when you're coughing up the money regardless. It's a simple principle of consumer economics. If something doesn't meet your satisfaction, be it bad apples or a shoddy pair of trainers. Would you keep investing in that company? No. You'd save that money and simply go elsewhere. We struggle to do this because the consumer demograph for Destiny is soo varied.This game is the equivalent of minecraft in the FPS genre. No nudity, no profanity, no real complex narrative of any kind and mild violence and peril ergo; accessible from all ages. I can almost gaurantee that a big chunk of that 38% are gamers 16 and below who have no real concept of corporate agendas and are basically steamrolling thier gaurdians to buy it for them. They don't care about the bigger picture. They just want new exotics. Probably alot of adults who are divorced from these notions as well. Not everyone is concerned by these microcosmic debates about how another cultural medium is being exploited by another big company. It's unfortunate to admit but the vocal portion of destiny's player base who actually recognise that we're all being taken advantage of are in the minority. Couple that with the fact that BungieVision cornered the market by releasing the game soo early in the ps4's life cycle (wasn't much else in the library and they were aware of this trust me). This is basically another COD style enterprise and it's just gonna go on and on. Unless you guys take a step back and look at it for what it is. Greed.

I've stuck by my 25$ down payment since the announcement. If they make a cheaper alternative to just get the DLC and CE items I'll be fine with it but if not I'll still be fine with it.

If you don't care. many of us do care and won't allow a stick to be shoved right up our asses, we complain so bungie can get the head out their ass and do something about this bullshit, complaining is what caused bungie to give us something "better" in this weekly update. So yeah it does help and saying "stop complaining" doesn't.

I think a more interesting post would be about polling the people who were definitely going to buy it and seeing what they say now. With the apology, that MIGHT mess with what the numbers might have been though.

I'm not buying or preordering it until The Taken King has the chance of being a part of the Digital Upgrade deal. I don't have the money right now to pay for $80 on both the PS3 and PS4 Versions of The Taken King. That's the amount for the Collector's Edition right their!
