Still the best interview I've seen haha
-
More like Bungie shows true colours...
-
I blame activision. Bobby Kottick is the super devil. Look at the mess that is COD. Destiny didn't even have a chance. Activision took the idea and carved it up to monetize it.

2 RepliesDo you guys remember back in the day. Halo 3 days. Bungie gave the entire community a brand new pvp map. Cold Storage is what it was called. And it was a decent map, bungie put it up for free, for everyone. So what happened?
-
2 RepliesI'm getting ready to boycott bungie

They hit us first, let's hit them back. You can see in the interview with Luke Smith, he mentions a time of "convergence" where new players and existing player will work together. Well -blam!- that. When these "new players" enter into the games they need to be boycotted at all cost. When you come across these noobs with their exotic class items, and exclusive emotes do not interact with them, do not help them progress through the game, and above all else, teabag furiously when you kill them. Attempt to ruin these new comers experience, and help this game along it's path to death. We can all move on and do something with our lives while simultaneously striking them back they same way they ruthlessly poked and prodded our wallets. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" Yes . Activision is evil, and Bungie is their puppet.
-- Credit to Xol

17 RepliesI see this turning into something like the elder scrolls community. The people who bought the collectors edition got access to exclusive content. So loyal elder scrolls players just shunned them and hated them for it. This will most probably happen in destiny. The players seen with the exclusive content will be shunned and hated by the day 1 players.

Lol i almost can't believe this is real. It sound like a joke interview made up by The Onion or something.

2 RepliesI love the guy as a creative director, but I don't see why they had him interviewed on this matter. He is not part of PR/marketing, finances, any of the actual business side of it; it doesn't make sense. I imagine that EuroGamer requested an interview for TTK and Bungie sent Luke Smith to talk about the gameplay itself and they cornered him with these questions that he really shouldn't have been answering. It just seems off, asking someone who designs gameplay why their parent company is making certain financial decisions.

3 RepliesI love Destiny and I'm looking forward to TTK, but man that just wasn't cool..

3 RepliesThat guy is an absolute moron. How could someone so ignorant get a job that important?

47 RepliesEdited by The-Gaurdian21: 6/23/2015 5:29:59 AMI am tired of this debate. Heres how this works... Bungie has a player base, but they want and need more. How do you draw more people in? By rewarding them for joining. To make it seem rewarding it has to be something only newcomers get. Now how do you keep a player base, by rewarding them for staying. The only problem, is with us. We want everything, we cant have everything. You cannot reward new players without it somehow punishing old players. You cannot reward old players without new players feeling punished. Big deals and shiny items bring more people in. It also allows those who didn't have enough money earlier to get caught up. You dont deserve everything just because you play.

4 RepliesTo me, personally, the most irritating part of this is that the 'reason' for the UK price to be £39.99 (near $63) is that pounds are "foreign" to him, and is "just going to use American dollars", as if they're the exact same thing, it's no excuse and just picks around the question.
-
28 RepliesOnce again, I am astounded by this community's absolute stupidity, and complete lack of understanding of any kind of business model or time value of money. Well done folks, this community is officially dumber than CoD's community. Don't bother responding to this, cause I'm not going to read any responses, and will just add you to my mute list.

3 RepliesActivision. The cancer of gaming.

You know this could be Bungies way of tricking us into begging for microtransactions. If that were the case it would be a diabolic level genius move on Bungies part.
-
unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot nothing is going to get better. it's not.
-
1 ReplyThat's funny, because I won't defend Bungie/Activision and their anti-consumer practices to anyone. Vote with your wallets, people.

Edited by G1ARD1NA: 6/23/2015 4:10:32 AMI brought up a similar point when they discounted the game, including both expansions, to $60 total, the week BEFORE House of Wolves came out. The forums basically attacked me as a standard complainer. I'm not rich, but I make enough money, where a few dollars spent for my entertainment does not bother me. I am happy to buy games and play them, along with expansions, as long as I am into it. If I don't like the game, I trade it back in, or sell it on Craigslist and take my losses. However, this doesn't change the fact that I paid for the DLC before release and paid more for it, while I could have just waited a few months and been at the same point of progression, and paid 40% less, before it was released. (This is in regards to HoW.) I was called many things for bringing this point up, labeled, and even stereotyped as being "cheap," when I simply wanted to point out a fact. Even Deej replied to the post, saying, "There is a value to being first." I get it.....we got a good experience by doing it all while it was 'fresh.'.....but what do we get for logging 300+ hours, convincing our friends to buy the game, grinding for hours on end, providing free feedback to them, and being loyal fans? We get squeezed for a few extra dollars, which adds up to millions on their end. We now see that there is indeed a value to being first: paying more to play it, and then enticed into rebuying everything in order to get specific, exclusive content. I will still buy the expansion, because I genuinely believe that I will get what I consider to be my "money's worth." Destiny had been a very enjoyable game/experience to me, friends, and new friends we made by playing it. It is just sad to see that this is what promising and legitimate VG franchises are resorting to, in order to squeeze some extra money out of their fans. I agree with the interviewer and I will not rebuy what I already own, for a couple small things within the game. It also doesn't help that the Bungie dude was a total douche about it either. Hopefully, they do this right and chop up all the content to make it available for everyone, new and original players-alike.

5 RepliesI don't know....that interview doesn't sit quite right with me. Personally, I don't care all that much. I'll be buying the DLC, but just remember not everything you read is true, euro gamer could've easily changed his wording. Not defending it completely, I'm just saying keep an open mind. He also said there's more to reveal.... All this because of emotes.
-
Disgusting.
-
*Throws money at screen* Ok, let me pick it back up.
-
1 ReplyIf they had said something like Activision had tied Bungie's hands on how the game will be sold, I probably would have bought the TTKCE. But the guy basically said, "Like we give a flying -blam!- about your concerns. We know you'll spend whatever Bungie tells you to, so deal with it." If they maintain this mentality, I'm not buying TTK at all. Respect your customers, Bungie.

3 RepliesSeriously guys don't pre order this bs. Just wait for reviews because they think most of us will just buy it day one. Don't be a sheep and just blindly buy something. If we all take a stand they will be forced to make a change. This is not acceptable at all. Apparently they listen to our feedback, so let's put that to the test.
