Hello Gaurdians. This is my story about my lvl 35 POE experience.
After a long day at work I decided to come home and relax and play Destiny for awhile. My wife is at work so I know I won't be interrupted by anyone. So I log on to Destiny and my buddy shoots me an invite. Cool. I'm thinking maybe we will do the nightfall and possibly some PoE. Once I am in my buddy's fireteam I get up and go get some snacks. I get back and I see that it is three of us. Great I am ready to go. I notice that the destination had been selected to Skolas Revenge. At this time I am thinking "WTF". I am a level 33 warlock this is going to be nearly impossible for me. What the heck, I will try it. I consider myself to be a decent player so this should be fun.
We knock out round one without a problem. Round two the member of the fireteam decides to leave. No problem. After a few trys my buddy and I knockout the second round. Round three is were we started to have some problems. Luckily someone joins and we knock that round out. Round 4 starts and the newest member of the fireteam leaves. Ok... so I decide to hop on the forums and see if I could get someone to join. We had someone join and we knockout round 4 and 5. Next up is Skolas.
Great. I am ready for this. I never thought that me being a level 33 would be able to get this far in a 35 PoE. But I had great fireteam members and we were able to get here. We start the fight and we are doing great. Knocking out severitors and firing off gally rounds at skolas. We get him about 90% health when my phone rings. I notice it is my wife. I pick up my phone.
Me: Hello
Wife: Hey, what are you doing?
Me: Just playing the game. What's up?
Wife: I'm stuck on the side of the road and I need you to come pick me up.
( At this time I am thinking this the wrong d*** time for car problems. We've only been married for three years and being single doesn't sound so bad at the moment)
Wife: HELLO?! Do you hear me?
Me: Yeah I hear you.
Wife: Well are you on your way to come get me?
( F***, why now)
Me: Yeah. Give me a minute.
So by now I have some choices to make either complete this PoE and have one pissed of woman at home or save my marriage by picking up my wife. I give it a few minutes because at this time we are doing really well. Then the worst thing could happen and we all die. With about 50-60% health remaining. Needless to say I went to pick up my wife. Unfortunately I love the woman and I wasn't able complete the lvl 35 PoE.
So the moral of the story is either don't get married or if you are married make sure you have AAA. Stay safe Gaurdians.
Edited: I appreciate the comments guys. Don't forget to share any good stories.

1 ReplyLady will always be number one. Though on the final day of IB I had a power outage and because I couldn't bother doing the laggy grind before then I was still rank 2. So she got onto my account and grinded to rank 5 for me, as well as nabbing me a Radegast. The best ever.

6 RepliesMe and my girl work at Gamestop, and I was doing skolas at home because it was my day off, and my friends and I kept messing up on the servitor then my girl calls and says she needs me to take her shift even though it was my day off, I'm really salty at that point but I say yes, Around three hours later i come home to find out she got on my account and beat skolas for me, I eventually beat him myself but daaang.

3 RepliesEdited by jhutch_91: 6/18/2015 12:03:28 AMThis is why there needs to be checkpoint system for 35 skolas And I mean just for Skolas. It's obvious that this kinda crap happens. Life happens. And since bungie made it even harder where you can't beat him in 1min And now it takes closer to 10. There needs to be a checkpoint just and only for him

A happy marriage is much better than queens wrath weapons trust me.

I play so I'd let my husband finish however all my friends would wait for us to get back so they'd take a break for 30 minutes for us.

2 RepliesGood for you man, a happy wife is a happy house or however the saying goes lol

I just lost The Game.

1 ReplySkolas will always be there. Happy wife, happy life right? I feel your pain because I've battled with skolas a couple of times and "life" has gotten in the way each time. It is what it is. I'll get to kill him eventually and so will you and that will be a glorious day. Happy hunting guardian!

You made the right decision man. Salute!

Edited by JayceeRrrr: 6/17/2015 3:36:19 AMGood choice. Too late now, but Skolas was much easier on Solar burn especially with 42 Gjallarhorn salute. Takes less than 30 seconds to down him.
