They should add in a new hidden modifier for the fight, where he flinches from damage a bit more easily. Or just make him flinch more easily, preventing him from blitzing your location is really part of the key to succeeding in this fight. It didn't particularly make me happy to try the fight, but it honestly proves a bit more interesting and [i]should[/i] leave Guardians feeling a bit more impressed with themselves. [b][i]Has anyone ruled out the perk that suppresses Fallen Captain's abilities as functioning against Skolas? If it actually worked, it would make the new guns more likeable as they'd serve a viable role in the fight.[/i][/b]

I Helped My Boy Who Got Back On Da Game Today With Skolas Not knowing the update & wow he got -blam!- first try...You kids obviously have no teamwork or strategy...his health bar is almost down half like where do you guys find it hard...My Fatebringer was doin almost 1100 damage...Stop Crying & Get Good...GOD

My problem isn't with the new strategy needed, the problem is they changed the modifiers prior to the weekly reset. AND the 15K health is a joke considering my 365 gjallahorn deals a minimum of 1600 per shot. That means two guardians landing all 7 shots in the 19 seconds deals over 22K…therefore skolas would be cooked. All-in-all, timing and implementation of this hot fix was done at an extremely poor time. Almost as poor as only telling players that quitting from ToO would be banned since the only notification was in the weekly update. Quite disappointed with this although I fully expect to beat him next week. Once again, poor PR and communication coming from Bungie. They continue to hinder their own game. Between the supposed 15K health and banning people who are unaware of the criteria (which in my opinion should be clearly stated as a warning in game) Bungie is once again showing their worse side. Reminding me of TDB days and all those mistakes that were made.

Its actually much easier in my opinion. You people are wanting to take him out asap. And then you get swamped by adds. You fail to realize they made it were the adds spawn corresponding to skolas health. There for it you take out adds. Shoot skolas. Take out adds. Shot skolas. Rince and repeat. It's easy. I did not finish it becux the mines. But my team got him down to 1/4 health. With only one gally. And no icebreakers

Edit: I'm being told that everything I said before, I no longer believe. We were playing with no burn AND the pre-halved health when I ranted. Skolas is a relatively straightforward battle now. Thanks Bungie!

Just did that with my team idk what it said in the patch notes but his health is not reduced it says 15,000 but it's not actually reduce his health

I'm surprised you didn't say anything about round four what a cluster frack!! omg! Captains one shotting us, we wiped several times for that reason. ok. got captains figured out.. servitor.. not bad. but Skolas is more of a Pain in the apples then ever. There aren't many ways to get etheric light these days and its frustrating that people have to deal with such a ridiculous boss. Jeesh.. have light drop at the 28's random end game or something. Players are being punished by 35 with 34 gear to start with. then god forbid have been terribly unlucky have only gotten through the 32's once or twice. People need to play with decent players to get through those levels. With all the drama going on, my friends list is dropping faster than a hooker with drug problem. tsk.. tsk... what to do now with all my free time! lol.

Yes it's must harder. Plus to many enemies that can hit you with one shot cause the light switch. Bungie must really hate their customers.

Over 5 hours on the new Skolas and we had to give up! this is insane now. I was playing with someone who had beaten him 12 times and now we cant beat him once in 5 hours? bungie is making it very hard to want to play this game I have gotten a total of 5 etheric lights since the dlc dropped and now they want me to work for 5 or 6 hours to get 1 when I need about 30 of them. I thought they said the reason they are changing Skolas was to make it easier for more people to complete well that was an EPIC FAIL I guess they don't even bother to play the game before they do a hot fix . please make this game more playable for people who don't have all the best weapons and a way to level up the weapons we do have

Rotate and kill adds first while dealing damage to him every so often. If you get overwhelmed by adds or skolas warps next to you rotate. Adds now spawn when his health hits certain levels. You can clear adds now.

fought skolas after patch for 3 1/2 hours till we gave up even all 3 of us had galleys it done no good. i wont be enduring another 3 hours of that again. we had him at 1/4 health and was over run with shrapnel cannons and scorch cannons for the last time. I know most here are expert at comments and their lifetime of living at home playing games but for a working father a poe that is longer then even hard mode vog makes no sense even when its a good chance there is no loot worth having from rng god. good luck guys.

My god you've done it again bungie. So something is really had and people are starting to figure out how to work past it and all of a sudden bungie tries to look out for the little man and come to the rescue and creates a huge pile of crap where my once favorite game once stood. Seriously this happen to every raid Vog, hoc, and now prison of elders. Bungie when will you learn fixing your game should make it better and more user friendly. Not only did this "hot fix" utterly fail in what you tried to accomplish by making it easer, ( but I'll rant about that later ) it also created problems with the game all around. Since the update it's been glitchy and I hear the loot system is on the fritz all around the board. Bit back to the main reason I came on here, that I truly doubt anyone will even care about, skolas himself. First off why update a day early? I put in so much time and effort getting to the point where my group and I can finally kill that nightmare skolas and you give me three characters so before the reset I get to do it again but no I get off work to find bungie decided to change everything around a day early and on top of that sayin all proudly hey we lowered his health to make it easer. What a joke it's like killing my dog and telling me I can still keep it. I'm sure many people would agree that these weekly hot fixes are something to dread. Things self On my way! Get fixed and more often than not it just makes me want to play the game less and less but the good thing is I had a whole week before I had to feel with that crap. Oh wait let's take that silver lining away too. So please simply be better be the bungie that we the games deserve and expect.

yes he dose, So why take the brun from skolas if you wasn't going to replace it with more then one perk, like give us all the perks but the brun perks or have more of the clear serviters spawn. Players who have never beat Skolas will never beat him such as me, now and might not ever want to now because it is just to hard to do. So thanks Bungie for coming up with a way to make me not want to play Destniy. :(

Since out of the blue I decided to be nice here is the way me and my team beat him we had one hunter one titan w/ helm of saint and warlock with purifier(<--- or however you spell that ) robes we killed one servitor spammed skolas while being agile meaning while he ran at us we gally'd the hell out of him we moved(in the circular rotation on the map (for noobies) )we seemed to always be rushed with captains so we either sent our titan to pop a bubble on them or we had our warlock self-res and blind them we just made sure they were blind so we could focus on skolas while the hunter finds stuff like vandals(hunter uses golden gun, and crest of alpha lupi) hunter also leads the group so hunter(me) uses his golden gun on vandals w/ yellow health and spawned orbs so our warlock and titans can maintain their supers or atleast come close to their supers and maintain rotation until they can get their supers and so on and so forth this literally took 1hr and could be some useful advice to those who haven't given up, and to those who have given up.. really? you're going to let punk bitch ass skolas beat you? cmon don't give up yet
