Another 5 hours wasted
Thank you bungie for destroying this game. We spent 5 hours on skolas and no luck. Two weeks ago qodron was impossible. We started 12 guys doing all end game content. 3 are left and we are leaving too if you dont fix this -blam!-ing game. And before everyone tells me how easy skolas is. Do it with no gjallarhorns like us. We have all played since launch and no luck on rng. -blam!- you bungie -blam!- you.

You suck. Everyone did it the last 2 week's without Gjallarhorn. Not an excuse at all

3 of us ran Skolas last night. 3 x Gjallarhorn and high impact solar snipers. We'd get him down to a sliver of health and he would teleport onto the left ramp (100+ feet almost every time) and smash us. We'd even stun him with crit shots and then all the sudden he is on top of us and we wipe. So ridiculous.

Did it with 3x black hammers yesterday and found it easier than with gjallarhorns because you stun lock him so he can't fire at you. Nobody cares if you leave, plenty of people can do skolas and seeing as it's the hardest activity pve wise (supposedly), it's not something everyone will be able to do 3x every week. That's kind of the point. Either man up or leave in tears... The forums don't care.

I do feel peoples pain, I don't care who you are this encounter has too much luck in it, I've done it both the void week and now this week. But it took us several tries both times because any number of things can go wrong or you just get unlucky. Its a very boring encounter as well, since the mechanic of passing along the taint is stupid since if anyone dies your basically screwed. The number of adds is also nuts considering all the things your trying to take into account and there is no cover available. This is easily the least fun activity bungie has developed my major list of complaints in order: 1. No Checkpoints 2. 3 man teams (Should be 4 minimum just to include a weaker player or new person) 3. Bugged quests 4. Crappy end game weapon drops and extremely low drop rate 5. The cipher should go to your mission slot how easy was this to figure out in a development meeting? I have 1 friend left to get through this stupid encounter and once that is done I will not bother with it in future, its zero fun to play and takes way too long due to the lack of checkpoints. Rewards don't justify the time or frustration.

Last week was void, truth, did it on our 3rd try. this week is solar use hunger and black hammer it's not too bad...

Beat skolas last week using void weapons. Gally isn't essential, just helps make things go a little faster, black hammer with multi crits = no reload just burn him down. Hunger of crota, vision of confluence, just have to run from one end to the other every few minutes

1 ReplyLast week was the first time I beat him and it took about an hour. This week will be difficult because him and the captains can kill so fast. Also, I don't have a Gjallarhorn yet either but I did ascend my black hammer to 365 so I'll give it a try but I'm not too optimistic.

You can do it with no G-horns the same way everyone did it the last two weeks... just snipe him and stun lock him... Not hard.

Maybe you should try playing with other people? Have atleast one player with you guys that has done it and can walk you through it, you have a black hammer, and a Titan, try burning him out. RealTKOgaming on YouTube shows how to do it with snipers, I'm sure there are lots of other videos too

3 RepliesLast week we took him down almost instantly using two titans and one warlock then we ran it again legit by running around passing the poison and taking down the servitors then shooting Skolas using two warlocks and one hunter. So really it's about finding the right technique. Good luck, don't give up.

Blaming a game because you can't beat a boss? Time is not wasted if you're having fun playing, and if you aren't having fun you're playing the wrong game for you. Seems like a no brainier to me.

We did it last night took about an hour and half from start to finish. Thing is its meant to be hard. It's meant to take real team work. You want easy don't do 35. Edit - this was on PS3 too so no quick synthesis.
