Anyone else simply not bothering with PoE after experiencing the super broken loot system?
After the novelty of the first chest (guaranteed exotic on each character) I had high hopes for the weekly reset of PoE. I thought "Finally we get rewarded for slogging through stupidly hard battles)" but, noooo, it was not to be. Instead it turns out that the whole HoW expansion is geared to rewarding PvP players. Best armour, best weapons, best rewards etc. etc. Finish PoE 35 and you are lucky to get a speech from Variks. No guaranteed loot like ToO, no Wolf Ketch social area for all the hard work with a nice loot chest sitting by the throne.
In fact you get nothing at all most times, not even from opening the queens chest. At the very least it should have guaranteed the elder cipher! How is it possible to release a reward system so broken that it's a joke in PoE while simultaneously releasing a reward system that gives the victor everything in ToO. I mean don't even get me started on the treasure keys issue. Get to the end of the 35 and if you haven't previously FARMED a key you can't even open the chest!
So here's my poll for you. What was the result of playing PoE for you.

Funny part of all this is..... The pure PvP players never complain about not being able to get Raid, or PoE stuff because they dont play PvE... But all the PvE players complain they cant get to 1 chest, with alright weapons and by alright i mean that the weapons from osiris are specifically designed for PvP. The raid weapons or any other exotic or legendary is better for PvE. Do you hear PvPers whining about not being able to access PvE content they paid for? No. But all PvE people whine about 1 chest they cant get to because they "paid" for that chest. Guess what PvErs, you also "paid" for PoE.....but i dont see the majority of you complaining you cant beat Skolas......

I did skolas last week and didnt have a key. I got the standard drop. No gun no cipher and due to no key no ship or emblem. By the way i never knew you needed a key until afterwards.

PvE players get the entire prison and treasure room, with a big chest, and still complain because their treasure room doesn't take an extra loading screen. PvP players play the same map for 9+ games and then get to go enjoy a cool area, the first actual skill-based reward system in Destiny PvP.

37 RepliesYou are guaranteed 3 things from completing 35, armor core, weapon core, and etheric light. This results in 2 pieces of maxed gear either weapon or armor. Along with that you have a chance of getting an exotic bounty (only way to get it is from PoE not in crucible) and chance at damage type primaries. The lighthouse is hardly a social area when all it is in a place with a chest I mean hell, PoE gets a place with 3 chest! That is 3 times as many as the lighthouse gets lol. If you want to make it to the lighthouse play Trials, if you don't then don't. The rewards are fine I think too many rewards are given out for everything already. I'm sitting at 13 etheric light with pretty much every weapon I use upgraded and have deleted plenty of new PoE and Trials gear

I like it and dont really care for the rewards.. If good.. nice If not.. maybe some day again Not getting bothered too much about games.

4 RepliesI will say this. I've beaten level 34 about 6 times now and not once have I seen anybody get the elder cipher. It's ridiculous. Can't believe that's the only way to get the new exotic weapons, totally bummed

Well i suppose you at least got to make TWO proper friends instead of the pre PoE countless ones.. at least thats how i see it gone down on most of my friend/clan list.. same trio's constantly playing the lvl34/35 one, till weekends and rinse repeat for osiris, perhaps they try to fit raid or two in with us 'lesser' players around monday night, not too bothered if thats how it must be then no probs, pity it was restricted/scaled to three instead of a six man fireteam.

Thy just did a patch read the release note. Keys are now a guarantee from your first kill order / bounty. they also have more of a chance to drop from the ether chests( chests can only be opened one time now) and the poe chests. Also Class Items will now drop from Level 32, Level 34, and Level 35.

I don't mind the award system. Just the weapons are crap. The best weapons are still VOG weapons

I love the concept of PoE, a nice horde-type mode that people have been asking for ages now, but it was just poorly executed. The reward system is just bad, especially the whole buying stuff with cores part, and even when we do get the rewards they're just not all that great. I'm just going to get enough Etheric Light for all my characters with level 34/IB tomorrow and probably call it quits for PoE unless a friend needs help.

4 RepliesI now realize after months and months of Destiny how much I hate most of the people who frequent these forums. What absolute elitist pricks, lol. I've done all the raids and done them on hard, and collected a large portion of all the gear available, while enjoying my time with Destiny. Now since HoW release I haven't had nearly the amount of time nor the drive to play a ton so I've only gone through PoE a few times and haven't even attempted over level 32. Tbh, I haven't even seen the point. Now I come here and read BS everywhere about players who do level 35 on all 3 characters? Like -blam!- off, really. The gear hasn't been all that impressive, and like hell if I'm going to keep going and farming keys on patrol just for a chance at an exotic. Guess I'll wait around for Xur.

Huh? We get armor cores, weapon cores, etheric light and rep for a vendor. On top of that there are boss drop chances and key chest RNG bonuses. So the trials of Osiris gear is superior, many PvP-only players don't have any of the previous raid weapons, I don't see what the big deal is. We have etheric light and tons of weapons already.

The lighthouse is nothing special, complain when the crucible has enough special events to match the raids in PvE. I'm a primarily PvE player too, but I understand that PvP has been long ignored.

Now I've got all 34s, my main weapons at 365 and 7 Etheric Light there's no real need for me to run 35 PoE. I'll still run 32 for those Armour Cores so I can get more options for class builds and 34 to help friends out but unless 35 is an easy net of loot I simply won't bother. I'd rather play Crucible & Raid in the week and ToO at weekends. Iron Banner will be a nice addition though.

Yeah, the HoW is more for PvP players cause the PoE is just broken with a terrible loot system, no checkpoints, and too difficult bosses. That wolf ketch idea is pretty cool... PvE players should get a personal social space
