So I haven't seen many serious threads about this problem. Let's get to the point right away- The random waiting time for the Variks summon is just plain irritating. It's not a matter of patience, but a matter of not having something to look at and be patient for. I have seen some people who have been waiting since the first day of the expansion and others who wait an hour. I don't know if this RNG (Which is already used with the drop of the Elder Cipher in the first place) or a serious bug that hasn't been addressed in any way by Bungie. I know a lot of people are irritated at the situation, and I for one have expected some info about if this is intended or not from Bungie. A little clarity would be suuuuuper nice right now. I would like to appreciate the originality ( I use that term lightly) of the guns but instead I get to stare at an unfinished quest for days on end. I want people who care about an answer from Bungie on this situation to post how long it took them, even if it was only a few hours to get the summons from Varicks, and state if they believe this is a bug/intentional thing. The main thing that makes me believe it might be a bug is that some people get a message in orbit, while others ended up flying to the Reef and seeing a exclamation point above Variks head without ever getting the orbit message. Edit- I'm already seeing the large number growing in "over 72 hours". We really deserve an answer from Bungie on if this was intentional and if so WHY they chose to do it like this, taking into consideration the amount of work it took some of us to kill the bosses and "earn" the cipher as a well deserved reward. Then we also have to work and grind some more bosses to finish the quest to receive the new weapons as well. Edit- I have gotten both of mine now. One took 72 hours while the other took 48. Nothing I did changed the times, they were both RNG. The speed this thread is getting attention should hopefully get Bungie to acknowledge it and give us some info on why it's like this.
