Then there's the risk of them taking their lower level characters in, I don't know how they'd implement a system with that much safety

You could join dead and still get rewards But this is different because of software issues

Allowing people to cheat the system, which is what they're preventing by not allowing checkpoints/ stopping people joining midfight

Well, if they are going to do that, they need to fix the connection issues as well.
