Okay since Venus and the guardian both have mass. The guardian "mass1" has a mass of 80kg and Venus "mass2" has a mass of 4.867E24 kg (0.815 Earth mass) what would be the gravitational force between the two masses considering we can jump high and move normally on Venus. Well using this formula Fg=G•M¹•M²/r² I can answer the question approximate the answer. So Fg=6.67x10-⁸•80•4.867x10²⁴/6053.5²= 25773kg so on Destinys "Venus" you'll weigh ≈257kg due to its intense gravity. There we go destiny is proven wrong. If you would like to add my on xbox one and we'll take it from there I would love to chat to anyone that is curious about the cosmos as a astrophysicist and all questions will be made with 100% approximately:)

Venus has a lower gravity than Earth so that's the first reason we can still jump high there. The second is the Traveler changed Venus so much, it became habitable for us (the atmosphereic pressure being reduced is the biggest factor here).

6 RepliesAhh, Newton's law of gravitation. I'm happy to see someone around here with some scientific knowledge. However, I've run my numbers through the equation and I've found a couple of mistakes. - Your value of G is in kN m^2/kg^2 - Instead it should be in the usual SI units of N (not kN) This makes it 6.67x10^-11 - Also, for the radius of Venus you used km rather than m. Putting these values in gives a mass of approx. 72.3 kg on Venus for a 80 kg guardian on Earth. So, unfortunately, Bungie are quite right here. You should notice that the mass will be lower on Venus because the planet is 0.815 the mass of Earth, so it's gravitational field strength will be lower too. (approximately 8.86 N in fact, as oppose to Earth's 9.81 N). Even so, you've spurred my interest and I'm now going to figure out some more cosmological Destiny truths. Hopefully we'll meet again, guardian.

Traveler changed the planets when it came. Probably why it's the same. Also it's a game.

All I know is that warlock have small torso and very long legs

It's life fantastical baby. Don't forget to bring your towel and Hitch hikers guide.

We use our armor to counteract the gravity

4 RepliesEdited by MaqLite: 5/24/2015 3:25:51 PMYou used the wrong formula, right formula is:
Op = a - fg + t x Scrblrd
Who cares? You know you can't prove science fiction wrong because it's set in an environment that's based off of imagined physics, right? You're playing a game where you have super powers and fight aliens, and you think there should be some sort of scientific accuracy? You're retarded.

Kg is a measurement of mass not weight. The solution to any force equation is given in Newtons not Kilograms. Also you have actually failed to say what you have disproved only that you have.

1 Reply6052=radius of Venus 6371=radius of earth .815=ratio of Venus mass to earth mass .945=ratio of Venus radius to earth radius Mass 1 is the same and so is G, so it can be discarded. Fg=.815/(.945)^2 Fg=.913 of earth's force Therefore your weight would be about 73 kg. get you physics right

You can't use a band aid on an anal fissure.

3 RepliesYou say venus has less mass than earth ( your 0.815). So we aren't pulled as hard = we weigh less. You then say we weigh more on venus ?!

5 Repliesa post that actually has meaning

There are warlocks and robots. Its a game

You're trying to find logic in a believe world? Why?

1 ReplyYou mean Destiny isn't real .....wipes away tear......

We weigh the same because of SPACE MAGIC!
It actually is. There is a reference in the grimoire to the Traveler causing new gravity on the Moon.
how about you just shut the -blam!- up and play the damn game

They go over that a little in the grimoire cards about vex or someone messing with the planets and moons gravity

Our helmets do not seem to have breathing apparatuses aswell. I mean the scenery on each planet is cool and unique. But it is not a reflection of how our actual solar system is. The tower or traveller or whatever it is called also would collide with earth, so yeah.
