The Celestial Nighthawk Problem
This exotic was something I was REALLY looking forward to after the datamine back in November, but now is really the most disappointing thing I've seen in Destiny.
The community has expressed many complaints about Golden Gun being ineffective in PvE- but rather than fixing the super, they introduced an item in the game to make something useful? That's upsetting.
It also makes your super much less useful in PvP, so no cool bird helmet for Crucible players.
I just think it would have made more sense to fix the super rather than force an exotic on players to make an ability useful for endgame.
I don't mean to complain- I love Bungie and Destiny, but this just seems ridiculous.

7 RepliesIts the most accurate, long distance super for PvE. That is its purpose, not to be on equal footing with damage as Nova Bomb or Fist of Havoc. It will get an exotic perk that makes it 6x as powerful as a single shot, or twice as powerful as all shots fired at the same target. It also get the keyhole perk so it can kill anything it the shots path. Pair that with the combustion perk and anything it hits will explode and kill enemies around it. And all that accurately and at distance.

There are different helmets that are better for pve and some better for pvp. Same as weapons. Sorry.

2 RepliesThis was the perfect solution. You ask them to fix the super. How? There is no way to do that that doesn't involve completely breaking it in pvp. How would that work you ask? Idk maybe they make it twice as strong for pve which in turn makes it stronger in pvp. They can now one shot Titans havocing, a bubble in 2 shots, any other thing in 1 shot. Making the best class in pvp even better while keeping the other two classes where they are. No the armor was a very smart move, boost them up in pve without effecting them whatsoever in pvp. Hunters can now be that DPS class it's always supposed to have been in pve and not just a weapons platform.

Golden Gun in PvP is deadly.. The problem is PvE it doesn't do all that much damage too high level enemies.. But with the New exotic you have a chance to change that.

Doesn't matter to me. So far it continues to be the only new exotic i must have.

But seeing how most people have the pvp skills of a 1handed downsyndrome player they didnt see yhe potential and cried that it sucked . And Now they are all super happy because we get 2shots worth of extra dmg. They dont get that Now you cant Pick of majors and actually spawn 10+orbs like you can with 4shots. Damn noobs.

Golden gun is effective in PvE, just not as effective as other supers. There's not particularly a way to buff the super specifically in PvE, and as is evident, some exotics are simply more effective in PvE than PvE, and vice versa. Honestly I think this is a grand exotic. It's a creative ability, and much better than it's previous effect.

Nobody is "forcing" you to use it. Something like this was needed for GG. Can't tweak supers without causing some imbalance somewhere.
