Your first few etheric light...

The question... With your first three, very difficult to acquire, etheric light, do you upgrade your weapons (Fatebringer, VoC, etc), or do you boringly use it on armor to get to 34 (keeping in mind that Iron Banner probably starts a week later)? EDIT: I realized the answer is fairly obvious just as I hit "Post", but I'll leave this up for discussion since I think most will not think it out and won't agree with me because of it. EDIT 2: Apparently, most people have thought this out more than I gave them credit for. Armor first, is the way to go. Ascending your armor and getting to 34 will give ALL your weapons and armor a boost, rather than just a 10%-20% boost to a few of them by using them on weapons. Sorry 365 Fatebringer... You're going to have to wait.

      • Light level is the most important aspect of the game. I could have a gjallarhorn maxed and down crota no problem but do that as a 29 or 30 and tell me how easy he goes down.

      • Armor. Weapon damage numbers will ultimately be a wash. Even in current Iron Banner you can use rare weapons and still be competitive depending on your skill level. I've played plenty as a level 29 rocking a 294 attack power ALR-96 Overkill with focus fire(Suros Perk) and still held my own easily going positive in matches against people with maxed 331 legendary weapons. Level difference will play a much larger roll in being competitive in Osiris and Prison of Elders.

I will have to use it on my armor. So I am level 34 for PoE and ToO. Does anyone know if you use etheric light on armor and break it down after do you get your light back?

      • 1 to a weapon, 2 to armor. Remember, your 1 exotic armor (all exotics for that matter) can be upgraded the instant HoW is downloaded using exotic shard which you should have been stockpiling. So, to your question, 3 level 34 armor pieces is enough to make you competitive, I'd use 1 on a weapon

        • Definitely armor. Weapon damage will not be that big of a deal unlike being a level 33/34 with the ability to unlock the higher tier mission. I mean shit we all still use fatebringer on Crotas end. No difference right?

"Boringly" Really? What's more boring then going "Oh look at that, my Fatebringer does 20% more damage hurr this is so much fun" But when you upgrade your armour, it gives you the chance to play more of the end game activities.

3rd Any Vendor armor piece with increased reload speed for HC's (just because it looks beast and Fatebringer is life)

              • 2 pieces of armor and one special or heavy weapon. With an exotic armor piece upgraded and HoW Bad juju, that should make a 33 good enough to run 34 PoE and get a spare one.... hopefully.
