Before HoW and all its changes drop I wanted to see if this is a popular idea and maybe get it trending so maybe bungie can possibly implement it before dlc drops.
Anyway anyone else feel faction shaders should be sold at thier perspective vendors? I'm not saying what level you have to be for them to be available, but (as an example) let's say when you hit rank 10 dead orbit you can buy the revenant shader for 10,000 glimmer, 15 unlocks hanged man, 20 is bittersteel, 25 is nowhere and 30 would unlock the ship (fermi solution in d.o. case)
I feel this would lessen the torturing grind and make more player's motivated into reaching level (say 30) on each faction and collecting all the faction shaders/ships.
Leave your thoughts and if you like the idea please like/bump :)
Edit 1: Upped the ideal glimmer cost.
Edit 2: Some players suggest a garunteed level reward; say at level 15 you get revenant automatically.
Yes. It's not, because of some "earned" or "rarity" notion, tell that to players with 50+ faction levels and no shaders.
Destiny's loot system is poor and does not reward skill and time invested, instead it relies on just dumb luck. I have faction shaders and I believe they should be sold at certain levels, e.g. lvl 25, 50 and 75.

Yeah man I think it's a good. my last gamertag was dead orbit 50 something w. One shader ... now that's a lot of ranking up dude. & I feel it deserves some real rewards rather than a mote & commendation like every damn package..gets frustrating sometimes man.
I like this idea. Definitely bump. I'd be going hard ranking up all 3 factions for those shaders dude!

Collectively leveled up DO to around 43 now. Hah. Hahahahahhahahahahahahaha. Nothing. No Fermi, no shaders.
help me
User: Queenofthebeef
I agree. I hate that its based on luck instead of being able to show people: "Hey I'm rank (something) in a faction and worked myself up to this." Instead of: "Hey, I'm lucky."
User: Askor the archeon
I agree with getting them at a certain level I'm rank 38 nm only have the Nefertiti shader to show for it
User: Brigasm
At least make the drop rate slightly higher. I heard of people really high ranked without getting any. I still received no shader yet.
User: Youre lightwork
Definitely think it's a good idea. of course the people w. All the shaders by 30 will say it's not but I think it is.
its only shaders. it's not anything that's game changing, OP, or unfair. I'd love to see shaders for purchase or at definitive levels.
User: Kdli
Agreed. Level 34 atm, Fermi solution, Bittersteel and The Hanged Man so far. While this may be considered lucky to some, I find it long and tedious to do. I feel for those who haven't gotten their well deserved drops yet.
User: Tobefeared
Instead of looking at it as removing excitement for a random drop. Look at it as motivation to grind and rank up your factions. Because as it is, there isn't much reason to do so.
User: Phantasy star 4
Have all Dead Orbit shaders and don't mind at all if they're sold as long as you rank up.
User: Vg supergamer
They can make the shaders available at a very high level so they'll still be rare, the whole luck>work thing doesn't make much sense in this case.
User: Phantasy
Seconded. Ranking up to "benchmark" levels (20,30,40 etc) per faction takes some serious grinding and it benefits literally everybody. If you ranked up to 100 and don't have a shader you want? This would benefit you. If you are the type of person that doesn't want waste their time for something not guaranteed even at high rank? This would benefit you. The only people this wouldn't benefit? Elitists. I have multiples of each Dead Orbit shader and I couldn't care less if those who worked hard to level up are able to buy them.
User: Lincolnfracari
Agreed
I forgot the guys name, but he mentioned on the reef review (and was mentioned in Crota too) that game would make easier for you to get everything. Why not do the same with the faction loot and reward? I'm almost over 30 on DO and haven't got a shader yet.
User: Tehw3apon
I have the much-desired Revenant. There are so many people that want this shader and tell me how cool it looks and ask me what rank I got it at.
Then I tell them I got it at rank 14 and find out they are level 60+ without a single shader.
If you level up a faction high enough I think you've proven your loyalty and should be able to make requests/purchase a "back room" deal.
So many other things in this game make everyone else look the same why not just let these poor unlucky people buy the damn shader?
Edited by PeopleVulture: 5/11/2015 6:07:07 PMThat's such a great idea. Rewarding people for hard work and devotion to a faction is a no-brainer.

1 ReplyNo no and no they would not be rare anymore after that

Yes as long as your rank is above 10, also the emblem + shader bitch should sell god of war
-
I completely agree. RNG can be a twat sometimes.
-
1 ReplyI say no. Leave it rng

6 RepliesTbh as someone who has grinded over 100 levels on factions I would hate to see the shaders sold. Its end game content which reallu is a grind to obtain but so worth it rather than hey I'm rank 10 here's my shader.

I didn't even bother reading this. The fact that it has the word PETITION in the title makes me want to die.

2 RepliesYea, the fraction shaders should be added to the nightfall reward raffle.
-
I agree, it would give a reason to do bounties again, I haven't done a bounty since the beginning of the Dark Below because I don't see the purpose of grinding everyday for experience I don't need.
-
Nope, I like the way it is now.

Agreed. 1. It could be sold starting from level 15 up to 50 for the ship. Glimmer price doesn't actually need to be higher as you already ranked up a lot. 2. Slightly change to RNG system that maps what you got and increases the chance of getting something that you don't have yet. So the grinding would mean you would eventually get everything even if the rules aren't very clear. I forgot the guy s name, but he mentioned on the reef review (and was mentioned in Crota too) that game would make easier for you to get everything. Why not do the same with the faction loot and reward? I'm almost over 30 on DO and haven't got a shadet yet.

1 ReplyI think it's a great idea but to keep some of the luck involved at a certain level you get a shader but you don't know which one you get
-
3 RepliesDisagree, one of the few things that everyone doesn't have and that makes them cool. Note: I have none.
-
1 ReplyBump, and no, I don't think you should have to hit lvl eleventy-billion. 10-15 should be plenty high enough for factions.
-
5 RepliesNo, then it is rarer
-
1 ReplyShould be like iron banner, you have to get to a certain level before being able to buy them from the sellers
-
I don't think I posted this last night but I'll do it again anyways NM Shader: Rank 11 Cleopatra AK Rank 13 Almathea (probably spelled wrong) DO Shader: Rank 9 Revenant Rank 12 Bittersteel

9 RepliesNope. Just another scrub that wants stuff handed to him. Suck it up and invest the time like everyone else.
