Thorn poison non lethal in PvP
Before you go ape shit please consider it.
Make thorns poison non-lethal in PVP. Don't nerf it's damage, ROF, or range. The poison would still damage players but would no longer kill you.
It would be an interesting compromise.
I don't care either way but thought of this a while ago

Amount of butt hurt in this post is too damn high. People only read the -blam!-ing title and nothing else. This would be good if they also make mark of the devourer reapply on every hit. Thorn would be great for keeping an enemy's shields low and preventing regeneration.

I have just started using the Thorn and its fun, i also get killed by the Thorn and I dont give a shit. I dont see what all the drama is about. If anything needs fixing its other guns need a little buff to give alternatives, not a nerf to the thorn.

As is waiting untill he shoots and hides, pull out your sniper and nail the bastard when he comes out for another shot! It is an exotic to be fair and that is the unique perk. Should auto fire be taken from TLW or maybe holding aces on hawkmoon? Maybe make the gally non fatal if it is a wolfpack that hits you. They would not be exotic anymore. Thorn isn't OP. It is powerfull yeah, just learn to fight against it. Stopping DoT if you kill them would be fair i suppose

Then what's the point of it being exotic and so hard to get because you have top get it from completing crucible.

Then they should also take away red deaths and suros regimes health regen after a kill, tracking on all rocket launcers in crucible and make the vex have a charge up time to be fired instead of it being full auto. You can realistically ask them to change a perk on one weapon and expect them to leave all the others alone do you? If they nerf that perk on thorn, the perks on the other weapons will soon follow.

Crouching stops the DoT. But there is a delay so you will die if you are at low health.

I agree with OP. How about instead of it damaging you it just makes the screen change like it does already. But have it like tunnel vision. But only after 2 shots are landed. First one weakens second disorients up the ass

The only reason why it's an EXOTIC is because of its looks and it's exotic perk if you take that away it's like a dumb girl, all looks and that'd dumb if you ask me but that's my opinion, that's also like taking away Tlw's speed and hawkmoons damage it's all looks after that and I'm not even gonna say taking away gjallarhorns wolf pack rounds cuz that's when people go ape s*** so Yea that's the way I see it plus it'll just be another 4 shot gun to kill and it will do the same and perform the same as a regular hand cannon which would NOT be exotic but hey nice post anyways :/

Just reduce it to 5 or 6 and keep it lethal (because when has poison not been lethal?) This will eliminate the two headshot capability of Thorn and keep the TTK closer to the other exotics (provided they buff auto rifles). This should be implemented because Thorn has [i][b]no glaring weaknesses[/b][/i] and has the capability to two headshot.

Respectfully speaking...removing the primary exotic perk from an exotic weapon that is earned via exotic bounty is just wrong. I suspect that Bungie will eventually ruin the Thorn in some manner, but they're not ever going to eliminate that perk for any game mode.

1 ReplyI've got no problem w/ the poison aside from the fact that I think if you kill the person that shot you w/ the thorn the DoTs should stop instantly. What it really needs is a range nerf, and possibly tie the range to how much the DoTs hit for.
