Crota Hard Raid Rant
Hey, I'm sorry that I don't have Gally or Hunger of Crota and I don't know when I'll get them but I have Truth which "Seeks" but doesn't "Track", somebody stupidly corrected me on this yesterday. Truth tracks ok. But I still want to do the hard raid. I think your preset requirements are dumb and I can easily do the Hard mode, I've done it before.

I'm sorry, but I'm tired of joining groups with a 31 Hunter with dragons breath or a rocket that (if I'm lucky) has tracking rockets at 307 damage. Or groups with 2+ hunters where no one can swordbear. If you don't have a hoc or gally, learn to swordbear, and stop getting carried. If you have a maxed Truth, I really don't care. I'm just tired of people saying you don't need gally, no crap. But it makes it so much easier when half the people in the forums want a free cookie.

See if I'm woth my clan we will gladly carry low levels through without any expectations off them. See if I'm bored and help an lfg with shit rockets and all 30-31 you can run along. I'm not wasting my time and effort on team that makes no effort to get to 32. If you bring a blue rocket in that is dumb. Any legendary tracking rocket x5 from the team will do. But don't give the excuse you cant regen health. Hell blue helmets have regen perks. No excuses.

Oddly enough, the truth is very weak against crota, better to have another RL without tracking or just use a sniper

Truth has aggressive tracking. How can this be an issue when shooting at Crota? If people complains about dps just shoot two rockets every time and shut them up.

One time my friend wanted me to help 4 other guys do CE hard and these were the rules everyone must be level 32 and have a gallahorn i turned him down

Truth rocket is more than enough. it helps to have gally and hunger but any upgraded tracking launcher is enough.

I ran a hard Crota last night, during the down phase someone flipped out on another guy because he didn't use a rocket and didn't have Gjallarhorn. Before I could say anything the guy said "you need burst DPS, not a rocket idiot. I use icebreaker and time the first shot to land just before rockets and one to land right after, does as much damage as most launchers". Which is totally correct. Guy continued to shit all over him so he got the boot while we waited on rotation because he would not shut up and we couldn't hear the swordbearer. Killed Crota first pull. Dude with icebreaker got Truth as a drop lol.

7 RepliesI've done several normal mode clears on my Ps account, and I still don't even have a decent rocket launcher. I got a "The Cure" with proximity and one round in the chamber. It sure is shit, but why do you need tracking when Crota for the most part stands completely still anyway?

Last night I have decided to forsake Crota hard mode. It's too much work without the right team to get through Also assuming you don't encounter 1 of 100 glitches. All for some crap loot. Normal mode can be easily done with 2 or 3 people and if you don't need the primaries from hard mode then you're all set.

5 RepliesDon't listen to them. Prototype True seeking is better than tracking. I wouldn't want to raid with someone who doesn't know that. Anyway even if you miss with truth it will explode anyway because of grenades and horseshoes. Hunger and galley will just miss.

No idea why people demand 32 only will Gally. I finally got a 32 an I only got a truth an hunger and I've done hard with all 31s an 1 32 with only dieing at Crota 3-4 times. If you can hold your own anyone can do it.

Truth is more than enough. And with 8 total and 3 in the tube, if you are dropping the bear and ogres too... Arguably a better choice than Hunger. But I'll take any decent rocket on raid teams. Just if it's not a seeker, you *better* be able to hit your target. :-)

I complete it once with a guy with horseshoe granaider and a girl with a blue rocket it did take a while tho xD (people want an easy run thats why they ask for stuff like 32 only with jelly)

1 ReplyPeople that need tracking rocket's are the ones that don't know how to shoot.. Just because they can't shoot they think everyone needs tracking.. It was not written into to the "How To Take Down Crota Manual" that Thou Must Use Tracking Rocket's. In the military, and as hunter's we do this thing where we LEAD A MOVING TARGET.... Crota moving right, or left shoot a rocket an inch in front of him.... My question is " when crota is center!!! when do you need to track him???? He don't move!! unless he is swinging at the sword bearer, or he is rotating... which mean's the team is moving with him and they are not shooting.. my advise "STOP aiming at his head".... His torso is so much bigger. If u still miss.. you just suck at shooting

4 RepliesI think it's stupid everyone wants tracking rockets Crota doesn't move unless you trying to hit him when he rotates which is dumb anyways when I host a raid I can care less some people are better than the guys with gallys and such and haven't been blessed but the rng system yet

Agressive Seeking = Tracking. I have it and it tracks like crazy - so the moron that corrected you is exactly that. Truth (fully levelled up) will help bring Crota down, but it's the after explosions that Gjallahorn / Hunger of Crota / Sub Explosives on others that keep his shields from regenerating after the initial impact and between rockets. If people are firing sniper / primary at Crota between rockets impacts might suffice. Even if someone doesn't have a tracking rocket, they can still help out by distracting boomers away from the Sword Bearer - either by going behind the Tower and beating on the wall or putting up a Titan Bubble to distract the Tower Boomers. HTH..

I would only kick someone who didn't have tracking on their rocket if they continually missed their shots. To continually miss them just makes me think it's intentional. Seriously not that hard to hit without tracking.

If someone booted you from hard mode bc you were using a truth, then they are a scrub and you probably wound up avoiding 4+ hours of wiping at various points, especially at Crota, where the kid who booted you continually failed at running sword. (All while blaming lag, glitches, teammates, etc)

Personally, I don't care what rocket launcher someone is using, as long as it's at the current max damage level and tracks.

Edited by Bedlam74: 5/6/2015 5:42:32 PMI used the Truth before I got The Hunger and it worked just fine especially if you're short handed and can use 8 rockets instead of 6. It's also handy if your fire team has issues taking the Sword Bearer down and the extra rockets come in handy.

if you stand on one of the two pillars (the ones next to where crota moves to on the left and right) you can literally take down crotas shield below 50 percent with a fang of ir yut by yourself. doesn't take much rockets after that, you just have to time it right because as soon as you reload his shield shoots back up. if the team is doing easy 3 sword method, this works. But if you need expert timing on 2 swords, doing this makes him drop too early.
