Turn on a stream of pvp, be it CoD or Battlefield, sometimes I even hear it when playing Destiny. These chumps don't realize how ignorant they are. If you use that word on this forum, you're essentially a... Seriously though, quit with the hate speech as a common dialogue. Our community needs to stand up to this. Little adolescent boys calling people fags ain't cool. The men of our community need to make this known. Set an example. Where the peeps at on this? The responses speak for themselves. Obvious hyperbole is obvious. So I'm gonna make a little EDIT about my comment. Just so everyone knows, when I initially wrote this post, it was in haste. I clicked on a CoD AW stream for a second to see what it looked like on twitch, and within a few minutes the dude was calling everybody this word. It didn't matter if you were his teammate or his opponent, his desire to use this word seemed insatiable. It kinda made me sick that 800 people watched that shit all the time and even subbed to a dumbass like that. So there's a small story about the inspiration. I mistakenly allowed myself to be a hypocrite, because I made a joke (that I still find funny) about homophobes' children getting a disease that has been wrongly blamed on gay men since the 1980s. AIDS. Let me be clear- I said "if you say this you're essentially a low life piece of shit, and I hope your kids get AIDS." (Never mind that my very next words were "Seriously, though..." Implying the former comment to be unserious... But that's a skill you kids will have to get better at if you hope to score high on reading comprehension on your SATs.) So as I said, a terrible joke with context. I am sorry if you have or know people with this disease and I offended. That could be viewed as being a bully and that was stupid of me. For the rest of you- thank you very much for proving my point. All of the white knights that have come to slay me down in the name of chivalry have really shown their true colors... Also, you've got such a small brain if your argument is "it doesn't mean that anymore!" If you're version of the word for someone being stupid or weak or annoying is f****t, try to imagine why that word is a placeholder rather than any of the other words you are supposedly trying to describe. If someone's being stupid, call them that. Calling someone a homophobic slur "but you don't mean it that way," is ignorant. I don't expect white boys to understand this, because no matter how hard you try there is almost no epithet in our culture that even comes close to damaging them. There are no words that degrade white boys for being white boys. So if you're a white suburban kid, welcome to the concept of white privilege. This is your life. Peace out.
