Does anyone else find having to use the recruitment forums or LFG sites just a pain in the A$$ ? I would prefer to play with people I know but the reality is we don't always play at the same time. Once people complete the Nightfall once with all 3 of their characters they don't really want to do it again. Matchmaking has made completing the weekly missions more convenient so expanding it to nightfall just makes If you don't want to use the matchmaking option you wouldn't have to. I would just like to be provided the option.
Edit - some of you are missing the point of this being optional. Their would be no harm in the people who want it, could use it. Anyone who doesn't ... Can simply not use it. Most changes made to this game make some people happy but others upset. This is a you can have your cake or eat it too scenario. It helps some people and doesn't impact the ones who don't want it.

1 ReplyGo to the 100.io site register and arrange your own at a time that suits, we at dad's of destiny use it to arrange raids etc, makes it very very easy

Bungie wont make it optional. Look at the current match making in the game. None of it is optional. Why would they start now? To me, either get rid of matchmaking all together or make it all optional. I don't do ROC strikes because of match making. I would like to solo things like that for the challenge. Hell, I am mad they put match making into the weekly. Now I am unable to go and solo it if I choose to. Bungie took the fun away from players with this crap!!

Edited by Fromage of Havoc: 4/30/2015 7:15:28 PM
Edit - some of you are missing the point of this being optional.
And you are missing the fact that Bungie completely removed the option of queuing up with whatever number of players you want, then inviting more later if you want, to replace it with forced matchmaking, giving it no -blam!-ing reason. I'm sure people will come and reply with nonsense technical bullshit that they know nothing about, but that's why your OP isn't getting upvoted. They don't want to do it anyway due to tossing the team back to orbit after a failure (stated on the update with the Weekly Heroic Matchmaking), otherwise they would have.

5 RepliesMy response might be a bit harsh, so I'll try to translate it into as intellectual a response as I possibly can, OP. *ahem* Go -blam!- yourself, OP! Make some -blam!-ing friends!!

1 ReplyI think it should be an option for all activities. +1 for player choice

1 ReplyNo AFK people are bad enough in weekly heroics as it is

Hell no! I aint trying to carry your sorry ass

1 ReplyBungie has ruined the game experience by forcing people out of the game to do the matchmaking. They are also lazy as -blam!- that they didn't implement LFG in game. They should be paying the people who did the sites for them.

One trillion percent agree. I've been saying this forever on this forum. It works well on the weekly and would be the same on nightfall. Like you say just make it OPTIONAL. Id'd like to see it for the raids as well but one step at a time. I just wish they'd fix the mother f'ing comms to where you can speak with the fireteam. Fireteam/strike chat is broke. Works when I'm with my buddy 70 percent of the time but we've never been able to chat with the 3rd during the weekly. Come on bungie, get with this stuff instead of needless crap like the purple ball!!!

I do the nightfall every week. I used to talk to the guys I played with but then my mic broke, soon after realised that it takes no communication to complete a nightfall. So i agree trawling the forums is just a pain in the ass these days.
