• Pulled Europe's ass out of the fire. Stopped Japan from killing millions in Asia. You're welcome.

  • This is American ignorance at it's finest right here. The US was quite content in watching Europe burn.

  • After the horrors of WWI, you bet the USA was hesitant to enter another war. However, when we did, we committed to the effort 100%. Perhaps if Chamberlain hadn't been so weak and capitulating when dealing with Hitler, there wouldn't have been war in Europe.

Saved Britain from being taken over by Germany and almost single handedly defeated Japan. Yeah, I like what we did

  • HAHAHA you didn't save GB from the Axis powers. The Battle of Britain was long over when you joined the war.

  • Sorry to say that the war was well on it's way, the US more or less just helped speed along what was going to happen anyways. GB and Canada repelled Axis offensives and Russia was already winning on the Eastern Front

  • And with no USSR, Germany would've been able to fully focus on Britain and, with a much bigger and better army, would've done so eventually

  • Britain would've starved to death if it weren't for the US. They would've never held out long enough if the US didn't help. Same with Russia, they never would've been able to repel -godwinslaw!- forces if the US didn't lend 2.1 billion in military supplies.

  • If you honestly believe that Russia would have been overrun if it wasn't for American supplies you are a misguided fool. The russian winter and terrain decimated the Axis' forces. Also the few supply ships that did make across the Atlantic, also did NOT save Britain, as the US did not provide any sort of escort for their merchant fleet.

  • US also gave 90 destroyers to Britain in exchange for use of British air bases in Caribbean and elsewhere

  • Less than 90 and they were more or less outdated as they were pre WWI - WWI destroyers

  • Without the allies' supplies, the Germans would've conquered Russia before Winter ever came

  • No, the axis was held back due to delays of their own and the russian terrain, and the red army stopped them near Moscow and the winter hit... Russia was a war machine back then and you could prob still consider them the same today

  • If Operation Market Garden under the leadership of Montgomery is any indication of how well things would have gone, Britain was not well on its way to ending the war without the USA.

  • Americans forces failed there as well. But the British were extremely successful in both Africa, Sicily and Italy which was described as the "underbelly of Europe". But since you were quick to point out a failure..... Kasserine Pass

  • Under Montgomery's leadership, yes Market Garden was a failure. It seems like you've got some underlying bitterness, particularly about US involvement in WWll.

  • Under American leadership it would have been the same result. I have a underlying bitterness about lack of American involvement in the war. I don't like how America was a bystander while Germany and their allies invaded other countries and launched assault after assault on other European and asian countries. I am annoyed that American watched as it's two closest allies (Canada and GB) were that close to defeat (but won against overwhelming odds at the Battle of Britain) and America did nothing

  • Well you can take that up with Roosevelt and the US Congress circa 1930s. Your bitterness and disdain are misplaced by 80 years and several generations.

  • I'm also annoyed at 90% of Americans attitude and ignorance to the war. I'm annoyed that you (if you are American) refer to yourselves as the "Guardians of Freedom" when you're not

90% huh, got any credible sources to back that up? As for "guardians of freedom", I've never mentioned anything of the sort. What I will say is that ever since WWII ended and that useless dung heap known as The United Nations was created, the USA has been expected to police a lot of bullshit situations around the globe. If they don't, they get crapped on by the international community. If they do, they still get crapped on by the international community. Is it any wonder that US citizens don't give a crap what some snooty Euro-trash thinks of them?

  • How do you have sources for ignorance and attitude? I don't need sources, I have experience in dealing with Americans. That "useless dung heap" organization that's The United Nations is arguably one of the most important and best things to ever happen to this planet. As for your policing the world, numerous countries police numerous parts of the world and get shit on for it. That's part of being a developed country and playing the role of "big brother" so to speak
