To everyone NOT pissed off, NOT butthurt, and NOT threatening to leave
You are the reason this game is in a downward spiral circling the toilet drain.
When you don't hold devs/publishers accountable for shortcomings, broken promises and straight up lies to the community you are enabling the rest of us to get ripped off. Let's be honest, whether you personally thought TDB was worth the money or not you must admit it failed to meet the expectations of many and had generally mediocre reviews. Crota's end can be soloed in around 20 mins. Eris Mourn is basically worthless once you reach rank 4. All 3 new exotic weapons are almost universally viewed as the worst exotic for their respective category. Don't even get me started on the new story missions that don't have a story or the exotic upgrading fiasco. Now we are finally getting a look at a new dlc that most of us bought sight unseen and it is missing the one activity that sells this game by itself and has entire websites dedicated to organizing people for groups. And being angry at that is an "overreaction" and I deserved to be muted for complaining. Please stop trying to sound like the North Korean government.
I know I'm not the first to say this and I won't be the last but this game is another in a long line of games that took advantage of favorable advertising and release dates to push out a mismanaged, unfinished product that made money off of hype and pre-orders. They knew it wasn't ready, they knew it had no story and they knew coming out in time for black friday with unbalanced gameplay and huge gaps in the plot would still make more money than coming out with a polished, quality game later.
While it's true Bungie never promised us a raid, it's also true they knew we expected one. Why else would that be such a big point in the news release. With so much of the content in TDB and HOW already on disc one must wonder what Bungie has been doing all this time. Both raids still have bugs. Iron Banner is still the only special event. Vault space is finally getting addressed after 7 months. The last pvp "balance" basically just made auto rifles and pulse rifles switch places. So really what have they been doing?
Bottom line is if you aren't upset or at least disappointed, maybe you need to take a step back and really evaluate how you are spending your time and money instead of rebuking those that voice dissent.

But the Iron Banner is about the only time i play crucible. And I'll play Trials of Osiris. And the story is interesting to me, partly because much of it is unknown, so i can play with it in my head. Sure it's not as deep as Halo... yet. But Halo has had six full games to build. Destiny is on Story: Part the first. Original Halo was pretty shallow too.

That does not, however, mean that you're owed anything, or that promises have been broken, or that you've been lied to. That's what sets me off - not that people are upset or dissatisfied, but the gag-inducing sense of unrepentant entitlement that pervades this game's community. I, for one, love Destiny. Absolutely love it. I'm also aware that, at least in the context of these forums, that places me in a staggering minority. Is it because I've taken my time with it, allowing myself to savor it and enjoy all that it has to offer? Is it because I came in with lower expectations? Am I just easier to please? Maybe. I don't know. What I do know, though, is that I thoroughly enjoyed both the base game and The Dark Below, and that I'm nine kinds of psyched for House of Wolves. But you and a great many others aren't. And that's fine. I realize that my sensibilities and preferences are far from the norm, and you are all entitled to your opinion, if nothing else (read: you are entitled to your opinion and nothing else). But for you to turn your frustrations on me, to blame I and others that like Destiny for issues that are, in the very kindest light, subjective? Eat a dîck.

Hmm let's see.. 1. Spent money on game 2. Played game 3. Enjoyed, and still do enjoy playing game 4. Will continue to play game Seems like I spent my money on something and got what I wanted out of it. If you have a problem with how you spent your money, that is not my problem, nor will it be. I'm sorry this game didn't work out to be a good game for you. Sorry you're having buyers remorse. However, I like this game and am tired of cookie cutter raids. I'm glad something else is being done for once. I'm really sorry that change frightens you (and a pretty decently sized portion of the community) so much that you have to try to tear it down, just so you feel better.

8 RepliesHey there, To you, the Community, and all others upset about Destiny's HoW's. Anyone here own or play Evolve, GTA V or a plethora of other new games? Evolve alone has close to if not better than $150 in day 1 DLC, on top of a $60 game. GTA V has in game money you can buy. Destiny may have come out spotty, but the have to compensate for Pre Dated Systems like Xbox 360 and PS3. They can't run the same game Destiny was talked up to be. Bungie made Halo 1, it started a lineage of amazing Story and Multiplayer. Halo 2 was better, I fell for everything Cheif said and got actually attached to a video game for the first time. Halo 3 I waited in line for I stood outside talkig to other players and preparing for an all night game feast, I couldnt play enoug Halo 3. Destiny 2 will be the Destiy you thought you were buying now, it will be, and 3 will be even better. You knew and know exactly what Bungies intentions are. They have alreay stated, ToO and the NEW Hoard Mode will be comin out, Hoard Mode made Gears, why wouod you think the Best Game of 2014 would give you anything than the Best? They also said "a new raid will come later in the year", so why are you whinning about no new Raid? I agree Crota is an awful Raid, TDB is poor at best, but it has kept you playing to now, and with a new direction ahead, embrace the change. You don't like Crota, so you like Atheon? The Community agrees. You haven't even played any of HoW and you're already judging it? You, and anyone else that feels the same way in the Community, need to re read the article, there IS GOING TO BE A NEW RAID, LATER IN THE YEAR. If you aren't gojn to stay for it, I'll buy your copy and play for you, I couldn't get enough Destiny. And with new content on the way, it will be nice for the change. Now about that story, it does exist, really, it's every where. Look up Crota's lore, look at your Grimoire cards, TRUTH ....IS WHERE YOU SEEK IT. If truly dive in the surroundings of the game you would find a much bigger World to explore. Don't come to the forums like American Government, thinking you can boss around thd people that ALLOW YOU to play their game. Do reconsider your stature and formulate a new reason to leave Destiny. 1 ReplySo here is what happened. They weren't ready to release Crota and everyone bitched about it so to make you happy they said screw it and released it. Then you all bitched about the glitches knowing that bungie said it wasn't ready in the first place. Then everyone whines about how they want more content blah blah blah, so they add A WHOLE NEW GAME MODE and everyone bitches about not having a raid!!! (BTW their will be another raid before Comet they just said they aren't releasing it with house of wolves, probably to actually get it right for all of you bitchy whiners). Give them some credit guys they pioneered the FPS raid (BL doesn't count not raids) they aren't just going to turn their back on it. Also, they have given almost everything we wanted. Xur sells heavy ammo every week, Fatebringer being upgradable, fixing their screw up with exotic armor, sound settings, vault space. You people just want to bitch and even though I know you are probably a genius game programmer you also have no clue what you're talking about.

Some of us aren't complaining because we simply don't care. Some of us didn't buy the season pass so we've nothing to get annoyed about. We don't base our enjoyment on future content. We've been around long enough to know that never ends well. We don't pre order or buy season passes for the reasons you see people complaining about. We don't get disappointment because we haven't set high expectations. We know what we're getting for our money because we're patient and we waited. This isn't our number one game. For a few, it's a stop gap until something else comes out. For others it's just a game we play between other games. Besides, i've got bigger things to worry about ... like my eldest daughter using my razor to shave her legs ... it's wrong, it's so wrong on so many levels yet every time I buy a new one it ends up as a leg shaver but why would she buy her own when muggins here will keep bringing them in. Bloody kids.

Wow so I'm actually pleased with it, not butthurt and crying like a miserable 5 year old who didn't get the toy he wanted, and you consider me the reason this game is going bad? No its people like you, constantly unpleased, screaming for something new and when you finally get it you scream that you wanted a raid (which by the way is still coming), instead of a new type of PvE endgame content that was sorely needed, and a new high level PvP game type, basically Iron Banner only its invite only, and you people still -blam!-ing bitch, no you shut the -blam!- up and go back to elementary school.

You're bitching about the single fact there's not a raid on release. A lot of people are disappointed, but they don't focus solely on that fact, instead looking at the things such as Trials of Osiris, the new Arena game mode, and upgrading old weapons to the new level, which make up for waiting on the new raid.

While our views cross paths in much the same ways I come to these forums for news and to monitor discussions, nothing more. I have an A Level exam in say 3 weeks and just don't want to complain on a forum and trust me, I have a lot I could complain about.

Seems to me that you're the person that needs to step back and reevaluate. It's okay to be perfectly happy with the game. It's subjective. Displaying your displeasure is fine. Don't play. Don't buy. Make threads on the forums. But don't expect everyone to agree with you, or care about your opinion when all you're doing is attempting to insult them.
