To everyone NOT pissed off, NOT butthurt, and NOT threatening to leave
You are the reason this game is in a downward spiral circling the toilet drain.
When you don't hold devs/publishers accountable for shortcomings, broken promises and straight up lies to the community you are enabling the rest of us to get ripped off. Let's be honest, whether you personally thought TDB was worth the money or not you must admit it failed to meet the expectations of many and had generally mediocre reviews. Crota's end can be soloed in around 20 mins. Eris Mourn is basically worthless once you reach rank 4. All 3 new exotic weapons are almost universally viewed as the worst exotic for their respective category. Don't even get me started on the new story missions that don't have a story or the exotic upgrading fiasco. Now we are finally getting a look at a new dlc that most of us bought sight unseen and it is missing the one activity that sells this game by itself and has entire websites dedicated to organizing people for groups. And being angry at that is an "overreaction" and I deserved to be muted for complaining. Please stop trying to sound like the North Korean government.
I know I'm not the first to say this and I won't be the last but this game is another in a long line of games that took advantage of favorable advertising and release dates to push out a mismanaged, unfinished product that made money off of hype and pre-orders. They knew it wasn't ready, they knew it had no story and they knew coming out in time for black friday with unbalanced gameplay and huge gaps in the plot would still make more money than coming out with a polished, quality game later.
While it's true Bungie never promised us a raid, it's also true they knew we expected one. Why else would that be such a big point in the news release. With so much of the content in TDB and HOW already on disc one must wonder what Bungie has been doing all this time. Both raids still have bugs. Iron Banner is still the only special event. Vault space is finally getting addressed after 7 months. The last pvp "balance" basically just made auto rifles and pulse rifles switch places. So really what have they been doing?
Bottom line is if you aren't upset or at least disappointed, maybe you need to take a step back and really evaluate how you are spending your time and money instead of rebuking those that voice dissent.

I've wanted a new game type since October. Not a new raid. Not new strikes. Hell, not even more story missions. They delivered. Satisfied? You bet your ass I am. You have a right to your opinion, and I have a right to mine.

Didn't see that one coming hahaha Even if there's no raid, as long as my grind "means something," I'll be content with the new content. I can no longer justify the damn 2500 rep grind only to receive 236 glimmer and 2 Ascendant Shards.. I used to have faith that the next pack would hold that random legendary that will rule the world. My body can't run on sorrow and sadness anymore... Just give me an internet penis to flaunt on Venus and I'll grind the grind. If HoW presents that awful plateau as fast as TDB did, I'll rant and rave.. There's no sense in getting upset now.

Downloadable content can change at any time before release date, I give bungie and activision credit. They know how to maximize there profits with no backfire, all llegal. Complaining about them is not going to solve a thing because there are still millions that are happy with the new game mode instead of a raid. It's time to move on

I agree with you. Ignore the sheeple. The expectations for dlc, or games in general have gone to shit. Sadly after today I realize this is most likely the new status quo.

And there is post from them previously and pics and the raid was the whole reason that the house of wolves was pushed back because they said it wasn't ready and that the raid would have no cheese in it. I do not know where this article is anymore because it was shortly after crotas fiasco of a raid. But it should be in their news feed somewhere. So they did promise a raid one that could not be cheated at that.

If you want to know the reason why bungie changed it is simple. The leaks and dataminers caused this issue because they couldnt wait, as a result bungie needed to supply new ideas, so they scraped and replaced it with the Prison of Elders and much more. You wanted buffed origin weapons, they are giving it, you wanted audio, they did. Yet here you all are insulting bungie with your toxic and foul feedback saying we didnt want it. I'm actually excited to see how bungie makes up for the lack of a raid with other content. After all, the story has gotten the most flack of all elements, and the prison of elders does provide quite a bit of potential...

I raged too initially then realized I might love the content in House of Wolves and it's silly to bitch about content I haven't seen or played. Now if I play it and still think it's awful I will share my feedback with Bungie.

1 ReplyIf you're not upset about this like I am, you're a patient person and you like waiting to see what they announce about new content and I DONT LIKE THAT! We're not telling you it's not okay to voice your discontent. We're telling you it's too soon to pass judgement on something we know VERY little about. Development had it's share of disasters and you can't account easily for such major shifts in design and direction that a game goes through when staff changes hands and things get scrapped. The people in charge of Marketing and Advertising were probably scurrying around at last minute trying to promise as much as they could becuase THAT'S THEIR JOB. I'm sorry that hype and pre-release stuff clouded your vision about the product that was going to come out.

honestly I'm not pissed about bungie/activision's decisions with this game. I mean i am disappointed but i'm not pissed or angry. It's not really the game that was promised at the E3 reveal and it plays differently from the alpha and beta that I was apart of, which is good, but I digress. I may be disappointed with this game and decisions made for It but I've enjoyed playing this game just about everyday since it's release, mostly because I play with friends. And Although I am disappointed I realize that this is a game and to the parties involved with decision making, it's a business. Decisions are going to be made that some love and others hate it happens.

Or I just don't take video games as seriously as you do. Some advice: stay away from ads for anything, don't let hype get to you, and always keep in mind the possibility of whatever you're excited for could possibly suck.

I love how people think that their opinion is the only one that is valid. I'm sorry you don't like this game ir the direction it is going BUT plenty of people do. I wish people could point out things that maybe they don't agree with without acting like Bungie did something wrong. They haven't, they are making a game and they are doing a good job. They can't please everybody. This is like saying I'm the reason Hollywood is going down hill because someone doesn't like the Fast and Furious series but I keep giving them money. Ridiculous.
