Is truth really THAT bad?

So i joined this guy on crota and almost immediately get booted. They ask me if i have a tracking rocket. I tell them i have truth and everyone mummers "trash". Wtf some were using legendary rocket launchers. Why does truth get so much hate? Edit: yeet for arguing lol

  • Lower the velocity and the rocket will have slightly more time to make turns.

  • Truth? Gjallarhorn users can't handle the Truth.
Which is funny considering I use Gjallarhorn.

But I've always wanted Truth.

Please RnG.
• Truth probably has the best tracking in the game. Very high velocity and a decent blast radius. I don't know who you were playing with but it was probably best for you to get booted. Staying with that group probably would've lowered your IQ a couple of points.

    • I know it kills things almost as good as g horn. I'm pretty sure any rocket with 300 atk or more will do damage to crota or atheon

    • Nothing wrong with it. Very fast in tracking the target. Faster than Crotas Hunger. Thruth also do good damage!

    • Truth is a great launcher. I actually just pulled my 3rd one from the Gorgon's chest last night. The clown you were playing with is clueless.

      • Truth is easily the 2nd best launcher in Destiny & I would argue it's aggressive targeting makes it superior in PvP maps with a lot of debris in the way.

        • Truth is great anywhere! For bosses probably go for Gjallarhorn (if you got it) otherwise go for Truth.

        • Truth is fantastic in Crucible due to tripod and proximity detonation. Truth is, while the tracking is great, most maps don't lend themselves to tracking due to corners. In PvE it's a waste of an exotic slot as any legendary launcher will be as good on Crota.

        • Aggressive tracking for sporadic movements of players in pvp , regular tracking for PVE where enemies walk in such stupidly predictable patterns and the most noteworthy movement is a side roll for 2 feet left or right :D

        • For PVE, yeah. Very weak. For Crucible it's great. 4+ free kills guaranteed every time you grab heavy.

        • IMO if you do not have Gjally Truth is the next best option other then hunger because hunger can free up the exotic spot so you can use a health regen gun if you do not a helm with the infusion perk.

        • Honestly, any rocket with tracking is very good and will perform well on Crota. People just like the Gjallarhorn because it deals twice as much damage as other rockets.

        • The people you joined were scrubs who don't know what a good rocket launcher looks like. They're the ones who take 5 hours to kill Crota. Don't waste your time you're better than those noobs who booted you. Simple as that.

        • Truth is awesome... 3 Rockets per Magazine, Almost maxed Blast Radius, really high Velocity, high speed lock-on, Proximity Detonation, and Aggressive Tracking. Basically the 3 best Rocket Perks; Tripod, Tracking, and Horseshoes, all in one launcher, with great stats. People only hate on it because it's not Gjallarhorn.

        • It seems like truth is more pvp based than pve. I mean, the rockets track so aggressively that if you miss and theres even room for it to move around, it can do a complete 180 U turn and still hit the guy. Idk but i love truth. It destroys once you get that aggressive tacking perk.

unless it is on Hard, we've used to take him down with Primary weapons before the Heavy ammo loss was fixed, Truth is an excellent rocket launcher (yeah, doesn't do as much damage as G-horn, so what?), and due to its aggressive tracking is actually preferrable for taking out Swordbearer, as we all know he LIKES to hide ;)

        • Truth has the most aggressive tracking in the game. If it had wolfpack rounds it would be better than Ghorn.

          • Any tracking rocket will do. I've downed Crota on hard with a Truth more than once. Hell I've done it with a No Harms Way (my first hard completion). Just aim at his feet and you can't miss, the splash with cluster bombs is the same as a direct hit with that rocket.

I use Dragons Breath for CE(N) with Gheleon's Demise. Valedictorian and Suros Regime for CE(H). My Valedictorian has Grenades and Horseshoes with Clown Cartridge, so it definitely helps. I do have Truth, but never tested it out. I'm assuming it's perks can backfire since people use their rockets trying to down the Swordbearer surrounded by Thrall. Others forget the Knight on the bridge next to Crota. Maybe it tracks the secondary targets over your primary if they can be seen in the scope?
