To the people who worry about orbs on CE Hard...
Last week I was doing a Crota's End Hard Mode and when we got to Crota, the guys I was with kept yelling about getting orbs. I ignored it at first, but eventually I started getting annoyed because I was getting yelled at for not making orbs. To me the orbs didn't matter because I don't have any armor that regens health, so I had 1 health bar and that was it.
What bothered me was that those guys were yelling in my ear about orbs when I don't need them, and if you're running middle strat the only person you should ever need them is the sword bearer. I have only died once at Crota (excluding wipes) on Hard Mode. Orbs are unnecessary, so to anyone who yells about orbs, please stop. You don't need them, you just need to avoid getting shot, which isn't that hard.
So the real question, who thinks orbs are important, and who doesn't need them?
Edit 1: To clarify, I'm not saying that orbs aren't useful. I'm just trying to figure out whether or not people think they are good enough to warrant this guy yelling at me for 30 minutes. They are useful, but I don't think it justifies yelling.
EDIT 2: Ok can people please try and see where I'm coming from. I'm not saying orbs aren't useful. THEY ARE. And I make them when they can (Which isn't often). PERSONALLY, I do not need orbs. What I want to know is was that guy justified at yelling at me? (The poll is to try and determine who feels that they really need orbs FOR HEALTH. Supers are entirely different bc it's always good to have those)

Lmao my buddies and I three manned Crota without any. People complain about them because without them, they're screwed. For the rest of us who have skill, orbs are as much of a tampon as the chalice.

He shouldn't have yelled at you but orbs are important for my friends and myself. Even if they aren't important for you because you don't have gear that'll give you health that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to help out. Always give it your best, although maybe you should play with nicer people because my team would of never yelled at someone for that!

Let's pick this apart, shall we? Firstly, swordbearer is not the only one who does. The titan that pops the distraction bubble needs them as well. Secondly, your point about the titan killing the boomers, then you have a wizard to deal with. And, at that point you just don't have time. Lastly, if he needs them and you don't, so what! If you can't make them, then done kill the knights and let someone who can make them do it

If you just play smart and careful, you really don't need orbs, I agree. I run hard with only suros, no health regen armor. Suros rarely gives me health back, but I rarely need that much health back either.

Each class can regen health without the orb perk - people are just ignorant Voidwalker: life steal perk Blade dancer: hungering blade perk Defender: ward of dawn initial use There are enough thrall throughout the encounter nobody should have trouble OHKing them with their melee

On another note, very few things justify one player yelling in another's ear. This is not one of those things. So yelling guys should calm down, you should make orbs, then a Everyone should eat pie. Then we can all be happy.

I don't use orbs for health but I always spawn orbs bc the titan needs them to continue to distract the boomers with his bubble. I prefer to do this method instead of the other methods bc with this method, the titan can still contribute taking Crotas shield down instead of sacrificing a guy to distract them thus leaving more rockets for everyone

But seriously it's saying you're annoyed with the guy yelling at you because you don't need orbs and then tell everyone else they don't either. If you just add he was yelling at you when you didn't even have your super you wouldn't be the dick in your story anymore.

1 ReplyThey weren't asking for orbs for your sake. You can't even use the orbs you generate regardless. They were asking for not only their healthy sake, but also making sure Titans have their bubble for when they need it, if you are using that strategy for distracting boomers.

No guy was a dick for continuing to yell at you. However, if you didn't save the knights or try to oblige then you too are a dick. Like you said they are helpful so make them for the team, since it's team based, if you can.

The only character I might need Orbs for is my Hunter. Activating Ward of Dawn restores your health as a Titan. And with Apotheosis Veil equipped on a Warlock, activating Radiance restores health.

You use orbs for charging supers. Creating orbs help keep the Titan bubbles up for all the swords to distract the boomers. Sounds like you were killing the Knights that people were prepping for orb generation. If the group wants to do the raid a certain way, do it that way. Otherwise, leave the raid.

Well it's supposed to be a team effort. It's ignorant as -blam!- of you to join someones raid group and not help just because YOU don't benefit from it.
