Iron Banner. Again? Aw man...
Just saying, I'm kinda sick of events that leave out the PvE crew. I have honestly maybe played 10-15 matches of Crucible, when I DIDN'T have an Exotic bounty to go and work on.
I mean, really, this is what, 5 or 6 now? Queen's Wrath happened, once, which needed work, sure! I'll absolutely agree with that! But then it gets dropped. And ignored. And work on Iron Banner happens! Which is great!
But then it keeps going.
And going.
And going.
Get the picture at this point? Yeah. We all do. Iron Banner won't go away, and that's not my complaint.
My issue, and I am NOT the only one, for sure, is that it's nothing else besides Iron Banner. We deserve some variety in our events, don't we?
Don't care what it is. Maybe it's some random faction-themed event, maybe it's Queen's Wrath. Maybe it's something new for Eris! Who knows! We deserve SOMETHING though, that isn't 100% PvP, however. Even make it a mixture. But we deserve it.
Edit: To those saying the PvE players have the Raids, first, this isn't about PvP vs PvE, this is about having absolutely no variety in the events. Second, the Raids are part of the core game, accessible anytime. The latest Raid gives armor on the same tier as Iron Banner gear, BUT Iron Banner is a temporary, limited-time thing. You can't get IB shaders/emblems/etc when it's not available. THAT is the point. Even if it's something different from IB, but still PvP, I'm okay with that. I'm saying we deserve SOMETHING different, regardless of it being PvE or PvP. Raids =/= Events.

I think we see Iron Banner more just cause it's an easier way to release level 32 non-raid gear, along with some very powerful weapons that aren't RNG. I will say, I really disliked PvP in the beginning. Clearly, it has it's flaws and unbalanced weapons can make for a rough time when you don't have one to retaliate with. My one friend was all about Iron Banner last time, so I decided to give it another go, and just got hooked. You rank up fast, exp is insane, and the weapons you unlock at higher ranks are amazing. Of course, going in with a friend or two makes all the difference in the world. I would just suggest to give it another try, read up on what people are using for load outs, and try to find a person or two to run it with. I'm all about the PvE too, and while it would be cool to see more events for it, don't let the PvP aspect ruin what could be a fun time to get away from the weekly grind.

10 RepliesShut up, if I only played crucible I would never reach max light level. Raiders have it better, new weapons and armor. Chance for exotics, new shaders, and vehicles. PvP players live iron banner because that's our raid, when we get the armor that puts us close to max light level. When we get weapons that will make your jaw drop. This our raid so shut up because you'll get the next DLC that will bring more items into your arsenal, while we hope for a helmet and favorite weapon type

2 RepliesI like iron banner and it once a month... I'd rather not redo terrible story missions to get queens gear that's going to be dismantled right away. At least with iron banner you can earn gear that's good

Actually the raids are timed weekly events while the iron banner is also a timed monthly event. The raid us part of the game and so is the crucible

IB currently blows due to server issue and so many people lagging out. IB just gave everyone I was playing with the weasel and now my xbox has disconnected itself from the Internet. It's good when everything works ok and actually quite fun but at the mo only 50% of games are running smoothly....

You may ask well this isn't Halo.. Ok you got me.. Well same thing happens in Call of Duty, we don't play FPS for the pve, only for the pvp after you've gotten all you need it gets boring. Pvp and DLC keep the game fresh.. Bounties feel like a chore in pve... Kill 10 of this , defeat this on heroic, collect that...it gets really boring after doing it 25 times... Same bounties and you don't improve your play style. In Pvp it's always a fresh experience with different play styles and people.. Some with higher skill than others. The bounties actually help you accomplish multiple weapon usage while engaging in strategic armed combat vs another human. I feel bad for you all that want Queens Wrath, speaking for myself I would not even touch it.. Edit: You pve scrubs can keep grinding all day the same repetitive crap, wait for your DLC and calm down. PvP is where it's at. Go play your Crota and leave us IB PvP fans alone.

3 RepliesI've barely played Destiny for the past 3 weeks. I was on the verge of quitting. Then I saw that Iron Banner scout rifle and that got me really excited to play again. If anything Iron Banner brought me back to Destiny, at least for a little while.

4 RepliesI like playing both PvP and PvE. I don't understand the whole "I can't play PvP" unless you completely suck at the game, meaning that you are unable to adapt on the fly because you only like playing the same cookie cutter gameplay (knowing the timing for strikes/raids playing against the same enemies). I for one enjoy Iron Banner very much, but I also strongly agree that PvE events are desperately needed to change things up and keep people loving everything this game has to offer.

2 RepliesNightfall, heroic, raids, daily stories, these are all PvE events. You get rewards daily/weekly from PvE events. If anything, I'd like to see more pvp events. Daily pvp events like the daily stories. (Play 3 control games or something). And tough weekly pvp events like score 10k points in an hour or something, and has a chance for an exotic drop like nightfall. Or a pvp raid would be amazing, like evolve but you just play as the soldiers, not the boss.

1 ReplyIron Banner events and Queens Wrath present introduction windows while in orbit to those who load their character for the first time that week. To those commenting that raids and weekly heroic missions are events I ask you this. Why don't we get an event introduction every week announcing that we can raid again or do the nightfall? Perhaps the answer is because raids and the weekly/nightfall aren't events? Is it maybe because they are part of the core game and not a timed EVENTS? I'm not saying that PvP doesn't need some more variety. I'm not saying that the odds of getting good drops from PvP doesn't need a means of guaranteeing better drops like the nightfall. My only point is that comparing IB to the weekly heroic missions is desperate at best. This community is silly.

4 RepliesI would love a NEW PVE event - not necessarily the Queen unless every mission was 100% new (yeah, I know, highly unlikely). At this point though, 5th time for Iron Banner I believe, even the guys who are only/mainly PVP would probably like something new as well - such as the fabled Trials of Osiris, which I am starting to think is dead before it even started.

1 ReplyMy favorite part is how everyone forgets that the Queens wrath sucked. You did unorigional quests so you could do strikes that you've done a million times with no added difficulty to get vendor quality items that couldn't be sharded and earn rep to buy a blue rifle. -blam!- the Queens wrath

2 RepliesEveryone likes events, everyone likes variety. The thing that annoys me about these posts though is simply that the PvE exclusive crowd have limited their own experience in destiny through their own tastes. And the PvP crowd are, in the majority at least, not limited as they like all aspects and thus all events PvP or PvE. I think it's no longer PvE vs PvP but PvE vs 'Destiny players'. The reason Queens Wrath was such a failure btw is because the economy in destiny got broken when the game was chopped to release DLC.

10 Repliesi get the feeling that queens wrath hasn't come back yet because the queens missions and bounties will be available all the time when HOW releases (much like eris now). I just get a bad feeling that the queens wrath is going to be recycled into the new vendor for HOW.

2 RepliesAgreed, I don't know what it is i can not play PVP. I get way too stressed and grind the living shit out of my teeth. I scream uncontrollably, sweat copious amounts, and feel dazed after just one match. Am I the only one with such PVP issues??

3 RepliesMy hunch is that they are using it for data mining. What class comes out on top, what weapon, etc. We know from the updates they are tracking what was used where and when. Think about it: you have a group sectioned off that you can tweak things without messing with the entire game. Almost like a test server, or like beta testing. Oh, wait, that is what we all are doing... The question is which has a larger play base: PVP or PVE? PVE is getting stale. PVP is keeping some people around, but for how long.
