What's the minimal KD ratio that you say, "meh, he's not bad." I avg. like 1.2-1.5 so anything over is A-OK to me lol.
Edit: I see very strong KDs from people commenting.. What setups work best, for you?
Edit2: So several people have suggested that the best way to judge your overall status in PvP, rather than KDr, is by using Destinytracker.com to view your DTR and such. My Crucible Summary is listed:
DTR: 16 - High Skill
Kills: Top 7%
Assists: Top 6%
Deaths: Top 6%
My KD and Win% are not worth mentioning but you are welcome to check yourself, if so inclined. I am curious what others are ranked? And what now is considered "good" according to DTR?
Edit3: 400 responses. Woot woot. Overall consensus seems to be anything positive means you're helping your team win. Lots of people consider KD irrelevant..still debating that one.

4 RepliesIt's a game, it's for fun. It doesn't matter. ALL k/d is fine. Just help the team win. (control) Ignore anyone who espouses k/d. Peace G

Ptfo and 1+

Honestly I think if you're over 1.0 your getting more kills than deaths and contributing to the team.
-
The way I look at it is that anything above 1.0, you're generally helping your team.

Says I'm good at capturing, assists, and suicides. I'd say they're righ*BOOM. Sorry that happens all the tim*BOOM

It is difficult to have a really high DTR true skill rating higher than like 25 unless you play in a party a lot. I have like a 2.4 kd and play solo most of the time but sometimes teammates are just aweful.

7, 9,001, or 42

3 RepliesDTR 18 - high skill Kills top 9% Assists top 5% Deaths top 4 % But k/d is only 0.94 Not sure how they work it out too be honest.

2 Repliesanything over 1.0 means that you do more good for your team than harm. From there the higher you go the more direct influence you have on the matches outcome. if your whole team stays positive you win (slight exceptions to control) for every person who goes below 1.0 you/team members now have to go high enough over 1.0 to bring that players average back up to 1.0+ and still keep your own kdr +. players who never avoid an encounter, never run from a fight and aren't the high score on their team are a detriment to the match. I can get the highest kdr/score on both teams all day long and loose all day long due to a .5 kdr teammate

The kind that you got when you had the most fun.

as far as i'm concerned, if your K/D is positive i take that as you help your team more than you die... simple as that simple fact is if everyone goes positive you win
-
If you have higher than a 1.0 then technically speaking you really helping your team by having more kills than deaths... that being said if your playing control and only have a 1.0 then you better either be capping a lot of points or you should have a better k/d. Just my two cents

1 ReplyAll of them really. If everyone who doesn't have a high KD ratio stopped playing crucible today in a few days time you wouldn't see anyone with a KD much higher than 1.0. The only reason they are so high to begin with is bungie forcing people to play in crucible to finish bounties that don't care about KD.

1 Replyanyone who treats you like garbage because you are less than 2.0 (so long as you're positive) are being unfair. sure a whole team of 2.0s would be nice, but anyone who averages over 1.25 is more likely to aid in your win than detract.
-
As long as your team all goes positive you should win the match barring extreme circumstances. So as long as my teammates go positive in happy

1 ReplyMy problem with kd comes from the fact that someone can camp a shotgun or sniper for the entirety of a match, never be found or killed and have a kd of 5+, but they're at the bottom of the team list and didn't contribute at all. I know my kd isn't that great, but I usually place in the top half on my team and usually get the objectively correct medal, so personal kd doesn't mean shite when it comes to team based objectives.
-
My thinking is for every death, there is a kill. So the average kdr is 1.0. So anything above that is above average. So to me, 1.5-2.0 is good. Above 2.0 is really good. Anything close to 3.0+ is great. 4.0+ is amazing

4 RepliesI have a 1.38 in clash. I feel like that's ok. Only have a .9 in control though, cuz I could less about kills in an OBJ game mode.
-
1.5 or greater means that you normally carry your own weight and then some.
-
Anything over 1.00 is really good.

7 RepliesEdited by Always Feral: 2/16/2015 12:15:29 PMI look for volume more than just a flat K/D. If somebody only has 500 kills and 250 deaths and their entire crucible career, their sweet 2.0 K/D doesn't mean shit. If I have more precision kills than a player's total kills in their entire combined PvP history across 3 characters (and I'm not even that good...above average at best), I just really don't respect their stats because their stats are a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things. But if a player has a positive K/D of around 1.2 or more out of tens of thousands of kills/deaths, I respect that. They've been playing for a long time and as much crap as this game throws at you in terms of its bad netcode and awful weapons/class balancing, it is kind of impressive to me considering a long-haul PvP career like that requires you to put up with a lot of bullshit.

2.5 is a must
-
2 RepliesIn pvp I got 38 kills and a 3.08 kd and none on my team got even 1.5

If it over a 1.0 that fine. Under maybe need some practice.
