Sword runners (hunters)
Let's cut the cap, hunters aren't automatically better sword runners then the other classes. I run it just fine with my warlock and titan also. People that are close minded that they "need" a hunter as a sword runner.. DONE!
Edit 1: people that say it's easier as a hunter? Really I do it just as easy with my titan and warlock and at about the same time. There is players out there just like me that can do this. Stfu with it you just haven't seen true talent.
Edit 2: I realize the issue now. Most of you have not played with GOOD players you have played with noobs. If you have not seen a titan and warlock do it real good 1st run. Then there either training or not good. Hop on with me in psn I'll show you some shit

They can utilise cloaking to be undetected on both the first and second kneel for Crota. True, any character class can successfully run the relic and is easy enough with every character, but Hunters will always be the best when it comes to wielding the sword, quite simply because they have class properties that make them more useful for the encounter that neither of the other classes have or can do as well.

Datto put a vid up that said any class can be a sword bearer. He also said the titian is the best class because of the increased lift. [spoiler]any class can run it I think people choose the hunter because of the agility[/spoiler]

Not true. I am an excellent sword user being able to get the 3 hits on Crota each time he is down, but Hunters are much more agile and quicker and I am able to put 4 hits on him easier than I can with my warlock. I can get the job done with either Hunter or Warlock but at the end of the day, Hunters are the much better choice for a faster annihilation of Crota.

Cloaked hunter is guaranteed 4/5 slams every time, not the case for warlock/titan

If you think it's any different from a hunter to say a Titan, quite frankly you're just not a good enough swordbearer. It is insanely easy to get 3 smashes in every kneel with any class. The only time it makes any difference is if you're trying to down Crota BEFORE ogres... In that case hunter will be masters (most of the time, I understand you can make him kneel 3 times per sword but LFG groups this is mostly unrealistic) Good job OP! Fellow 3 class swordbearer

On normal mode it's easier with my Hunter because I can just -blam!- Crota up that much faster not worrying about enrage and he's dead before ogres. Hard mode doesn't matter I do it with my warlock just as easy

Hunter invisibility just makes it easier man honestly. I run sword bearer on my Hunter and my Titan. Titans and warlocks have to hide while Crota is not kneeling. Hunters can literally stand right next to Crota and dance while Crota gets blasted with rockets.

Killed crota on hard with my titan. I felt pretty accomplished seeing I had all the odds against me.

Hunter is easier just face it. They make up for a shitty non coordinated team. I promise you your warlock or Titan wouldn't get one hit on crota if your team downs him right before the sword goes out. A hunter would be able to get that one due to the fact they are invisible already at crota. Noob lol

Dude is common sense that a hunter is easy to kill crota with. You can do it with other characters but hunters are best at it.

Hunters have the ability to go invisible to ensure maximum amount of damage on crota. That's what makes them "better" than the AVERAGE Titan/warlock

I find hunters easier to use for sword being able to get 7 hits a sword when taking him down twice. Still possible with other classes just risky going up early enough without invisibility

2 RepliesAny class can run sword and be great at it. This is undeniable. The best sword runner I've ever seen was a Titan. Not any class can dance at Crota's feet while his/her buddies at nailing Crota with rockets, however. Bladedancers have an undeniable advantage.

1 ReplyWhile I said many times that you don't need a hunter to run a sword but having one provides numerous advantages: With a good group: 2 sword 2 kneel run. With average and below average group Hunter does not die if few rockets are missing or people decide to fire at their own random pace or there's simply lack of firepower. Hunter can recover missed damage phase by doing 4 hits on every kneel. (Can't even count how many times I had to pull this because people failed to kill swordbearer in time or simply lacked firepower to bring him 2nd time and 1 damage phase was missed) To put simply hunter is less dependent on a group. Where having good titan/warlock swordbearer is 50% of the fight on swordbearer and 50% of the fight on fireteam. Having a good hunter is like 70% hunter 30% fireteam.

Agree. As a hunter myself who is good as a swordbearer, I don't think hunters are automatically better than titans or warlocks. Some will argue the blink strike method and that can be effective, no doubt. But I don't use blink strike invisibility and still do well.
