why do people collect exotic weapons?
I feel like most people who collect every exotic weapon don't even play with them they probably just play with gally %75 of the time.
Don't get me wrong those exotic shards you would get from dismantling them would be just as useless as the weapons themselves
I've got 8 exotic weapons and probably play with half of them but %75 of the time I play with

They're collectors who just like to look at the vault full of yellow guns. I was collecting them before the DLC as well, but with that crappy "exotic shard+upgrades reset" economy I just stopped caring and dismantled all but the most useful ones. Now I'm content with just the grimoire cards of these weapons.

Haha so true I collect them and just put them in the vault and I use gjallarhorn all of the time I only switch it when the nightfall burn is different

I just can't see the point in wasting time levelling up my other exotics but I want to keep them all its like a trophy cabinet that I can enjoy looking at. It's a reward for the grind

I poured hundreds of hours into the Dark Souls games. I won't start RPGs anymore. They ruin my life I've got all exotics but Gjallarhorn and Thunderlord at this point. It bothers me. Things that also upset my OCD: -I have 2 Hunters, 1 at 32, 1 at 31. MUST HAVE THEM BOTH TO 32! (which will be done soon) -I ONLY HAVE 2 HUNTERS! I need one of each class at max level but i won't start my next class til i feel I've completed what I've started with my Hunters -MUST HAVE ALL EXOTICS (mentioned earlier) -CAN'T BRAKE DOWN OLD RAID GEAR (i don't care if the VoG set is useless. I earned my complete set/might be useful again one day) -CAN'T LEAVE A SINGLE WEEK UNFINISHED (must do nightfall, weekly, and raids on both characters, multiple difficulties. In that order. Starting with Normal) -IF I'M DOING ONE VANGUARD BOUNTY, I'M DOING THEM ALL (once you pop...) -the insanity goes on... Sorry for the caps lock. That's my OCD screaming at me when i log into Destiny. OCD can suck at times. But hey, my business runs smoothly because of it and my house is always clean

Most of them either look cool or are crazy strong and all of them have a unique perk that may or may not be useless but is fun to use. While other high level players struggle to find things to do I always have exotics to upgrade. I only collect guns and I'm 3 shy of a complete collection ("4th Horseman", "Monte Carlo", and "Necrocasm")

I would collect them but prefer to just get exotic shards from the crap ones I'm never going to use.
