It's a crutch weapon, plain and simple. People may not see it that way, but there's no weapon in the game more user friendly in the crucible. How you beat it is by outplaying the other person flat out. Prime them with nades, use your cover, use your vertical space.

So, yeah, like everything else, the gun is OP if the guy using it is better than you. Some people don't understand that the underlying reason why they die to the vex is because those who have the vex are often of a higher caliber than your average player using the Shingen E.

Also, you have barely any pvp experience. I'm not trying to be a jerk but how can you have a solid opinion on it in pvp?
-
Because I've been playing video games for 12 years and have a basic understanding of how player skill works, and how obtaining high level gear, no matter how you do it, often means your better than those who don't have it. Just because I don't have a lot of experience in destiny, doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but this is a gear based game. And some gear is dramatically better than other gear. A 12 year gamer knows that. And yes, experience in THIS game with THIS weapon matters to this discussion.

I have been killed by it, and I have killed people who have it. I know it does a make a difference, but it should, as it was the hardest weapon in the game to get. It doesn't make a big enough difference for the person using it to be a god amongst men, but more of a hulk hogan amongst a bunch of Charlie Chaplins

According to your grimoire, you don't have it.

I meant that I have killed people who were using the vex. I don't care that I don't have it. I only play this game casually with friends.

I disagree. Lots of vexes were attained by talentless Atheon pushers. Having the weapon says absolutely nothing about the caliber player you are. I have the vex and refuse to use it in pvp. I have over 1000 crucible matches under my belt and I know when a weapon is a crutch weapon. If someone is blind to it, that points to a lack of knowledge on their part. Do I think vex should be removed? No. I like going against it and proving I'm the better competitor. It's a good challenge.
