Add a "Deserter Penalty" for the Vanguard strikes with matchmaking.
I find that, very often, players will queue into the Roc strikes and get e.g. Will of Crota or Undying Mind (or some other strike that's not "easy cheese", or that they just don't feel like doing at the moment), they'll just return to orbit and queue for something else, leaving me alone.
I feel that there should be a "Deserter Penalty" for those who queue into the matchmaking strikes and then use the return to orbit option to just bail out while other players are still alive in the instance should not have the option of queuing for another strike immediately. There should be a "penalty box" timeout (like, say, 10 or 15 minutes) to discourage such behaviour. If you're going to queue for matchmaking strikes, then commit to actually doing them.
I do NOT feel that this should apply to other strikes like the weekly heroic and nightfall, however, where you have to "manually" assemble your fireteam before entering the instance.
I also do not feel that this should apply to people who simply get disconnected due to latency or other such issues beyond their control- only to those who explicitly use "return to orbit" while other players are still alive in the instance.

The reason they leave those two strike is because they take way too long to complete. It's not because you can't cheese it or w.e.

Until we have the option to vote between two strikes before entering, people are going to keep leaving. Ultimately though, it really doesn't matter if people leave. They don't get any rewards for it, and it's still easy to do duo/solo even if nobody else joins you. I honestly wish I could solo my Vanguard strikes most of the time, playing with randoms wears thin after awhile. Now, punishing afkers, I could get on board with that. But punishing people because they don't want to do something just sounds like slavery to me.

4 RepliesNo. Because many people leave strikes because. 1. They don't want to run the same strike for the third time in a row. 2. They got kicked to orbit by the game. Got kicked once in Will of Crota strike just minutes before we were going to kill Omnigul. 3. It's our only real defense against afk-ers, and others looking to be carried and not participate.
-
2 RepliesIf I get Will of Crota five times in a row I'm going to quit. This sounds good, but maybe allow us to see what the next map will be as give us more time to decide if we want to stay for the next strike.
-
I quit because I keep getting the same strike over and over
-
Or you could just quit out of the strike and go to matchmaking again
-
The main reason it's done, is because people have done the same strike repeatedly, for the third or fourth time. I will leave after the third time I've done the same strike, only because it just gets too repetitive then.
-
Keep in mind that some of these players are leaving because the playlist is too stupid to realize they've already just completed the same strike. I've gotten phogoth 3 straight times before. If I get a repeat a lot of times I'll exit.

If I have to use the bathroom, or work calls? Sorry buddy. Real life happens, and theres no guarantee I play by your schedule or even in your timezone.
-
Nope. If it showed what strike was next, i would back out in orbit. Im not doing the tank strike if i dont have to. The strike takes way too long, and you dont get squat for it. I can run two other strikes in the same time frame. Ill also back out if i get the same strike over and over. Sorry bro, they should tell you whats coming.

1 ReplyWon't happen. That takes time and energy to change the game. Bungie is busy making sure people play the game they way they want you to play. You do realize that bungie doesn't listen to your outcry. They have your money already.
-
Who cares if people leave? Roc strikes can easily be soloed by a 30+ it's only a 26 mission. Who wants to play the same strike 4 straight times? Not me. And that's just one of the reasons people leave.
-
Absolute terrible idea
-
I'll stick it out on any strike, except omnigul. I hate that strike so much!
-
i get that players leave, same strike in a row, you had an invite to do something else, thats fine. But just sitting at the start and waiting for the other two to finish Thats Bull.....
-
2 RepliesSorry but after doing the same strike 4 times in a row, I get the urge to leave.
-
We should be able to kick people who just AFK as well, nothing more annoying!! If someone leaves oh well you might get help towards the end or a buddy can join you but if some dumb ass just sits back and does nothing while you do all the work, that's a load of crap
-
What about people that have to leave due to life outside the game......
-
I actually agree with this. Its a bit of a wow relate suggestion. Pvp deserters would have to wait an hour to rejoin. Would be perfect.
-
One person leaves? Each person gets 2 extra Vanguard marks and an extra engram. If you solo it, you get an extra engram and 4 extra Vanguard marks. I'd say that's the best way to go because if you make the rewards too good, then people will help their friends and just leave when the boss is one hit.

1 ReplyThere are countless reasons why petiole disconnect from a strike. Not just because it's not easy enough or they want to leave you alone. Having a penalty for disconnecting is ludicrous
-
2 RepliesThat's the only reason I'd bail is i just did that strike three times in a row.. The key to all of this should be loot.. If you drop in with three random non fireteam players and they drop out .. It should double your loot drop if you complete it
-
It's not a bad idea, but shouldn't be implemented until there is a voting for strike feature. You can't force people to play the same strike 6 out of ten times and not have them get bored with it.
-
Just had the same strike four times in a row. That's why people bail. Just put the strikes on a loop ffs!
-
To many server errors to penalize for jumping out. There is no way of knowing if the jumped or was booted out.

2 RepliesGot Psion Flares 3 times in a row, I'm entitled to GTFO of the match. Also, today I started the ROC playlist and after the 4th strike the wife said lets eat. So the real world priority kicked in and I told her to wait since I'm in the middle of a strike lol. Your logic though sounds cool isn't necessary. Slots get filled of people leave (sometimes) and if more important things comes up like kids or whatever, you shouldn't be penalized to leave. Everyone isn't leaving to piss off people.
