How do you counter Vex Mythoclast in Crucible?
Title says it all. I was playing some Crucible last night and ran into a fireteam of 3 or 4 Vex users. Needless to say, many tears were collected.

4 RepliesOutrange them. Scouts and old Auto Rifles work well plus hand cannons if you're accurate (Suros, Shadow Price, Vanquisher, Grim Citizen)

Thorn, shotguns.. Or anything that can outrange them... Ive gotten into a habit of using vex and shotguns and im not very proud of it... But everything else just doesn't fit my play style.

Range, Thorn and hawkmoon work well. If you charge at a vex user you're gonna have a bad time.

The problem the Vex Mythoclast has is the farther away someone is, the less accurate it becomes even if they are using Hammer Forged. I've out shot many Vex users with Suros Regime at any range other than close range then it just comes down to skill and luck as neither of them are exceptionally great close up in my opinion. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the Vex Mythoclast is terrible at shooting a strafing target, so you can easily outgun a lot of people if you're constantly strafing side to side as its way harder for them to hit head shots. But if you go up against more skilled players then your best bet is just do what you can.

Don't miss. Vex isn't so hot outside of close -mid range so you can either shot gun or fusion rifle them for 1 shot kill or get at a lon f er range with suros od any hand cannon really or even a scout

Jump only way to get kills with the vex is get all headshots

3 RepliesHand cannons and scout rifles. If you're good about keeping your distance, a Scout Rifle will eat a Vex user alive. Getting 4 consecutive shots with Vision of Confluence (need 2 of them to be headshots) is pretty damn easy with Zen Moment. And anyone who is good with a Hand Cannon will beat a Vex user at most distances (once you get to short-range ala fusion rifles, the Vex will tear you up). I whoop Vex users with The Devil You Know all the damn time. Or, if you want to beat the Vex at any range, equip the Last Word.

5 RepliesYou have to really outplay them. In my experience, it really gives people an unfair edge, and I hope Bungie is considering rebalancing. Of course, since the Crucible suffers from many balancing issues, my guess is the mythoclast probably won't see any attention for a while, assuming Bungie is even considering refining Crucible for its frustrating balance issues.

Edited by MacheteSquad: 1/30/2015 9:04:53 PMMobility, strafe don't just back pedal. Keep range or ambush them if you can. Figure out when to be patient and when to rush based on current match. Headshots. I prefer using Vanquisher VIII and Thorn mainly sometimes my Saterienne Rapier. I'm not the best at crucible but I have had really good games, consistency is what I need to work on so I don't have a game with a 4 K/d followed by a 1 or less lol. That being said though I have the best success when following those guidelines, no matter what gun is being used against me.
