Title says it all. I was playing some Crucible last night and ran into a fireteam of 3 or 4 Vex users. Needless to say, many tears were collected.

Try to keep your distance as much as possible and use a hand cannon.
-
Fight fire with fire. Grab a fusion rifle (PI or Plan C ideally), stick to close quarters and watch them fly. Personally I use my thorn while popping in and out of cover, DoT usually gets em.

Thorn. As a vex user myself, the thorn is the only gun that out powers me unless its a shotgun

Shoot them.

Depends what weapon set your good with? Hand cannons can outshoot any gun but a sniper headshot or a close range shotty. If you know how to strafe properly you can also outshoot it. For myself, I had to use it to see the drawbacks with this weapon, and it's the strafe and crouch is what I use to outshoot it with anything. Even auto rifles and scout rifles as well.

When i use my vex the only thing that kills me are hand cannons

I picked this up a week or 2 ago. Today i used it on crucible and, my god, its filthy. But im still going to use it as i earned it and i generally suck at crucible. I need all the help i can get

Use anything with decent long range capability like a scout or pulse rifle. The vex gets worse over range.

Edited by SnowGuardian: 2/1/2015 4:25:56 PMAny decent hand cannon will out preform the vex mythoclast. If you don't use hand cannons then it might take some time to learn to use them to their full potential. You will know you are ready when you can land 2-3 (depends on the gun) head shots really quickly on a single target.

2 Repliesrange. it's only accurate at fairly close range, it has a range perk but most players opt for the larger mag capacity, find out the range at which the accuracy drops off from the vex, and when you run into one, make sure as you are engaging you are backing up to keep as much actual distance between you and the vex as you can while focusing on head shots to increase the difficulty of vex accuracy as it doesn't have an unflinching perk. once you have been fine tuning safe vex distance for a bit, you'll start to identify the smarter not harder vex player using the range perk.. when you run into a range perk vex, assuming you aren't on a large map/playing control, when you identify a ranged vex, take a few shots to give the aggressor incentive to finish the kill vs. just moving on, and retreat, get around a corner, in a hallway (anything that forces them to close and come to you) get them in shotgun melee range where one shot/shot melee combo will kill him faster than the vex can kill you. using this method to set up a grenade trap is also effective, assuming it's not a one shot grenade be prepared to use the initial panic/disorientation of your enemy taking grenade damage to get line of site and finish him off with whatever weapon is appropriate at that distance. TLDR: 1. learn the accuracy-range limits of the vex and stay just beyond it. 2. if vex is using range perk, retreat and flank at close range, or get vex to chase you and set up melee range kill/grenade trap.

You counter the vex with skill lol. If you suck it's gonna be tough. The key is to not make yourself an easy target. Dont expose your whole body and never stay still to to crouch or jump a lot depending on the area. I've outgunned a vex user with a khvostov.. yes, the first gun you get at level 1. It's all about your tactics, you gotta play more conservative instead of going beast mode

By being better than the person using it
