Now that I've got Nechrochasm... why is this gun an exotic? *EDIT2* House Of Wolves Raid Exotic Final Form pic!!
Honestly though, there is nothing special about it... nothing. You're wasting an exotic slot on a mediocre auto rifle, all you get it is a few firefly-ish explosions with an surprisingly unimpressive blast radius.
Just wanted to let you know you're not missing much, sadly. Hopefully you can try it out yourself and form your own opinion, but as I know my fellow Guardians, most of you just want it for collection purposes.
[b]Needs a buff ASAP[/b], 1 or 2 abilities that makes it somehow worth using. Vex is so much better than this, it looks and feels like a "one of a kind" gun. Man, what are we getting in House of Wolves? An exotic Cucumber Stick? #GoodGodBungie

i think bungie made the gun poor in purpose as its easier to buff guns than it is to nerf them as not as much bitching will happen.i think it will get buffed we just must be patient.lol

I got it this week right after reset. It is fun to use when patrolling, but as of right now that's all it is; fun to use. The stability and the clip size are the main problems, coupled with the cursed thrall explosions not triggering 100% of the time. Also, why is it not 354 damage? (23 damage increase compared to other maxed weapons, just like the vex) There are some perks that need swapped, a long with some stats that Bungie just needs to buff in general (like the mag size, range and most importantly, the impact), so hopefully that's something that they will iron out sooner rather than later, because Nechrochasm could, and should be, the best gun available in the game to date. I'd like to see at least a 72 round mag with the option of an extended mag perk. Perfect balance instead of fitted stock would be fine if they buffed the range (zen moment would be ideal). And glass half fun is a must if they're not going to increase the impact. The increased damage on a 72 mag (or more with the extended mag) would more than make up for the lackluster impact I would hope. Cursed thrall explosions need to trigger 100% of the time on precision kills. I've seen some people suggest 100% for precision kills, 25% for body kills, but I'd rather a cursed thrall explosion that kills another enemy then triggers another cursed thrall explosion, thus triggering a big chain reaction.

Now that people are getting the [i]Crux of Crota[/i] and leveling their [i]Eidolon Ally[/i] to the exotic [i]Necrochasm.[/i] I want to propose just a few "easy" ways to make it feel like the next [i]Vex Mythoclast.[/i] [b][u]In no particular order[/u][/b] * Change fire rate to 88 and impact to 8-10 * Cursed thrall explosion needs to be [b]100% on critical kills[/b] and maybe 25-75% on body kills. (As of right now firefly is better than Cursed Thrall) * Remove [b]Single Point Sling[/b] and add [b]Field Scout[/b] * Maybe change [b]Rangefinder[/b] with [b]Zen Moment[/b] or [b]Crowd Control[/b] * Up the attack from 339 to somewhere [b]around 354[/b] (That would make it 23 points higher, as Vex is to Vanilla weapons) * Change the [b]green bullets to blue to help show the Arc damage[/b] and somewhat separate from the previous 2 forms * Aesthetically it looks like a [i]Hive [/i]weapon, but there is such a small difference from the [i]Husk to Ally to Necrochasm[/i] I think [b]something needs to be done with optics, color or build, even the Murmur looks to similar. [/b] It doesn't feel unique when you get [i]Necrochasm[/i] like the [i]Vex Mythoclast[/i] did as we've been "using" it in some form for awhile It's supposed to be the [b]pinnacle of Exotics[/b] at this point in the game and as it stands it just takes up space in the Vault. I'd really like to see something done, so the weapon we've all been chasing since the release of TDB is everything and more than we could have imagined! Thoughts???

They just need to make actual exotics. All they do is add a number or supply a status effect. The only weapon I can think of that has a unique effect is G-horn (and possibly Icebreaker)
