Sniper rifles, shotguns, fusion rifles, even hand cannons can give you an instadeath. And it's all cheap BS. I myself am surgical with a shotgun and deal out one shot kills all the time......And i hang my head in shame every time i do it. Some poor guy runs through a door and i blast him. It really doesn't involve much skill, you just happened to shoot first. Same goes for the sniper rifle, you just camp somewhere and pop people off. There's no fight at all. The fusion rifles and hand cannons will tear you apart up close and mid range with little reaction time. It all feels so cheap. It's less fighting and more getting the jump on somebody and finishing them off with a cheap shot.
I would like to have a PvP where if someone attacks you from behind or by surprise, you could turn around and potentially fight back to win a kill. This would let the more skilled players set themselves apart. With the exception of rockets and Supers, i would have all the one shot kill weapons only take down your armor instead of killing you outright. I think this would be a much better and intense game play. Forcing players to really show skill to win more kills than deaths. Just my opinion.
EDIT: Yes, i realize hand cannons are not a one shot kill, but the 2 or 3 quick shots to the head will take you out nearly as fast as a sniper rifle. And all you talking s..t on my post.....It's OK. I know you guys are bad in the crucible and your only lifeline to do halfway decent are cheap one shot kills. And the "surgical with a shotgun" was a movie reference. That one went over most of your heads. I also find it amusing that 99% of the people on this thread that are telling me i suck or to "get gud" have dismal K/D ratios compared to mine. The people that suck the worst are always the ones that talk the most sh.....Come at me, haters.

Edited by xXTheDireWolfXx: 5/4/2015 2:06:32 PMYep this is why I play as little crucible as possible as skill has no real bearing. Red bars and Thorn's rule IB. Battlefield 3 was an excellent game as kills took many shots. Strategy and skill played more of a roll, not very realistic but skillful players could thrive. The new battlefields are quicker kills though.

12 RepliesSniper Rifles should be one shot with headshot only. The only other special exception is with last bullet in the mag doing bonus damage with a body shot. Shotguns should be one shot at close range. I blame the players who blindly run around corners and doors. Fusion Rifles in my opinion shouldn't be one shot. The first charge should take shields down, and the second charge should kill. Hand Cannons cannot one shot. If you find one that can, let me know so I can start using it. Also, depending on the weapon your opponent is using, it is possible to turn around and have a fighting chance, but the chances of winning after they already caught you by surprise is slim.

3 RepliesEdited by hellfrost: 2/2/2015 12:54:10 PMDestiny is actually one of the few FPS games where you actually CAN fight back once you get shot in the back, take CoD or CS where kill times are 0.25-0.5s. Once you get shot in the back - you are dead. Destiny kill times are about 1s with best weapons so you have a lot of time to react. Your concerns about 1 hit kills are bit hilarious. I'm playing the same game and I don't have same experience by getting killed over and over again by a shotgun or a fusion rifle. If you experience that it means that you have no idea how you should play on particular map given your weapon set up. Mostly I use mid to long range primary, with either shotgun or a sniper secondary depending on the map and because of that I do not engage in close quarter combat unless I'm with a shotgun. If I'm running sniper with hawkmoon/ar/scout rifle I will never run into a close quarter area to fight. I'll either try to stay as far as I can or flank the enemy because I know I'll get my ass handed to me there as I do not have any weapons that can deal with targets fast enough at close quarters.
-
IMO dying from a shotgun from close range is very realistic, so it's okay.
-
Sniper rifles should always be 1 shot kill headshot. Body shot, no. Hand cannons rarely get one shot kills. I think only the hawkmoon can do that and it's only a 23% chance on a full clip. The real problem here is shotguns that can one shot from across the room. Shot package perk should be removed.
-
I'd just suggest that special ammo just spawns on the map like heavy ammo. This would stop people from running around with their special weapon as primary.
-
Fusion rifles are bs in PvP

1 ReplyIt's not op, if your good enough you can combat any thing and you can turn on bitches easily if you got the right gun on you.

3 paragraphs 3-2 is 1 1+6 is 7 Bungie likes 7
OP is fgt confirmed.
Wow ur special.....

My game of choice is skirmish by the way. But im good with all.
-
Maybe your tactics against one shot type weapons just suck? I can talk too, im -blam!-ing ruthless in crucibal. And its surgeon with this shotgun, not surgical.
-
I just take it, I like using Thorn, and Efrideet. If they one shot me first, my hat is off. Only thing that puts me in my feels is the insane range of fusion rifles. Running around a corner and meeting a shotgun would and should kill anyone. But, good luck!

Your edit is dumb considering you admitted your k/d was due to shotgun play, which you in turn talk shit on.

Petition to replace bullets with marshmallows.

If it kills you, it is OP and needs to be nerfed.

Edited by BC-GT: 2/1/2015 9:40:20 AMI see a lot of people going of on one about people using shotguns and fusion rifles in pvp and how it doesn't involve skill etc. To be honest skill goes out the window it's all about survival. A kill is a kill regardless of how it's achieved. I use trip mines all over the place and I am sure it is seen as dirty tactics also but it's the game. I die a lot and it doesn't bother me if it's by a shotgun to the face or from a skilled hand cannon from the otherside of the room, the end results the same I die lol. I certainly ain't going to be pissed because he managed to get me before I got him. I had a game the other night where the same guy kept killing me with a mythoclast over and over, nothing I could do to stop it. But then I landed a trip mine on his head and watched him die. I only got him once but it felt good. It's a game, one shot kills don't bother me one bit and if it can help me, someone who is rubbish at pvp get a few extra kills then fine.

4 RepliesEdited by Luke3107: 1/25/2015 3:44:33 PMSniper only one shot with Headshots, small target, requires SKILL (Snipers are not designed for running around with, you can moan about camping all you want, I'll be here roasting marshmallows) Fusion Rifles only one shot if you hit with the full burst which requires you to track your target for around 2 seconds (a long time in these types of matches) with precision. skill (technically not even a one shot kill, it's a three shot burst and all 3 have to hit you, so keep strafing) Shotguns, kinda debatable. Requires fast reaction times and the ability to force the opponents into close quarters. This requires skill (all those who complain that 'x' player is just camping there and keeps killing them, why are you still going there?) Hand Cannons, wait... what? In your edit you mention you know they take 2-3 shots (arguably it's more like 3-4). So what's the problem? Slow rate of fire means a halfway decent auto-rifle can beat it easily in a medium to short range battle. Hell, a decent scout rifle with a decent player will trounce you if your not careful. (Definitely your most idiotic claim). So by your rules players can only use: primaries: Auto Rifles Scout Rifles Pulse Rifles secondaries: None Talk about limiting the field..... Edit: underlined something twice

TBH I'm not too fussed with one shot weapons!!! Everyone has the chance to own them & if they want use them.. There's a bloody great RED RADAR telling you the general area of the enemy BE CARFUL!!!

1 ReplyEdited by Epwnymous: 1/25/2015 5:05:42 PMso you always want to survive (and have your target survive) for a few seconds after any kind of damage is dealt? I know its an rpg or whatever but that would make it basically turn based. It can be a little shocking getting one shotted in pvp after you feel like you attained godhood in pve but your goal is to become the shocker. No shame in a shotgun kill, just ask a gears vet. Anyone else wanna rush through a doorway lol? funniest part is sometimes they keep coming, part that makes this thread kinda irrelevant is sometimes they kill you anyway... I also kind of feel like not getting flanked is the skill, as opposed to spinning around full of lead and winning with a point blank shotgun wound smoldering on your previously exposed back... I mean skilled players are set apart. They get instant killed too until they learn all the opportunities for it to happen. The skill they have is just that: where to be, what to do and what to watch out for.

I have to disagree on this part just because of the sniper rifle. I want one sniper rifle headshot kills.
