10 RepliesAm I the only one who realizes putting more shots down range in a faster period of time is a factor? Not to mention reload. Comparing 1 bullet to 1 bullet is not a fair comparison between the 2 guns. I have a 331 word and clearing the crystal room on hard I've put 16 shots into hive from this beast. I was never part of the atheon cheese brigade so do not have fate yet but would like someone to test them both on Hive Majors. Then go test them both in vog...my guess? Word takes the cake hands down. Its a raiding gun and will serve you better in both. 3 2 1 Flame. Away.

1 ReplyActually hive disrupter hits an extra 300 on hive majors for Word of Crota. Mines at 331 and fate bringer is life. But not on CE anymore

2 RepliesLook yall, both hand cannons are extremely powerful. If you have both fatebringer and word then use them both during Crota raid... Use fatebringer during the lanterns as you can clear a mob with ease. However during the death singer it would be more advantageous to use word as it does higher dps on those fatty Knights and wizards. Also when fighting minotaurs in vog the word is better as the void is effective against the minotaurs void shield. These weapons are hard to compare. It's situational

7 RepliesIt's pretty hard to beat Fatebringer. I never expected WoC to be better. It's kind of hard to beat a weapon that will one shot a group of ten.... I got WoC last night (and a helmet for my 'lock) and I was so happy. I don't expect it to replace Fatebringer. Nothing replaces Fatebringer. I'm happy because now I have a [u]void[/u] primary that excels at being [b]not[/b] Atheon's Epilogue. Playing around a little, the WoC feels a lot like Thorn, sights look kind of like Fatebringers. It looks and shoots fine. Damage seems roughly on par with Fatebringer (or any other 300+ damage cannon). Replace the absolutely useless Phantom Gift with firefly.... Different story there. 'Splodey rounds with firefly would be sweet. Just firefly would be sweet... Ah well. One can dream. I guess I'm happy with it. I can't wait for a void burn nightfall.

It does fire faster, but has no firefly. Ironically, Word of Crota is my go to gun in hard Vault of Glass. 7 shots takes out a minotaur, about 12 takes out a praetorian. This should be more towards giving Fatebringer credit as a great gun. its the impact overwhelming the 300 status.

3 RepliesFatebringer works well for everything except HM Crota once you're done with lamps. Even then, there are better options to FB in the lamp phase with higher damage, imo. But yea other than that, everything in the game can be dominated with FB. It is absolutely amazing.

Whether the word is a more relevant hand cannon post dlc doesn't matter to me, what matters is I think the whole gun made of bones isn't my cup of coffee. Fate bringer is gorgeous and the crota raid weapons just look silly.
