After playing quite a bit of the ROC playlist on XB1, I feel this needs to be said...
If you see a Titan drop a bubble moments before the boss spawns in a strike...get yourself into the bubble immediately. 99% of the time that's gonna be weapons of light, and if you don't get into the bubble we're going to point at your, point at the bubble, punch you in the face...whatever we can to get you to step into the bubble. Most of us don't care for running defender over striker...because punch things. A well played Defender Titan benefits EVERYONE on the team and can dramatically cut the time it takes to kill the boss. The bubble is not for us, we do not use it to save our lives in strikes, we use it purely for DPS.
That is all, thank you!
Small edit - please don't turn this into a class war, I believe every class has its uses, I personally prefer my titan

Damn right! Preach!

This statement is even more true now that Xur sold the Glasshouse helmet for Defenders.
-
Thanks for this. straight up
-
its jus roc playlist.... lol already unbearable with the repetition and more unbearable running to that shield, save the 3 man squad some time and hulk smash the lil baddies , saves more time than bubbling up, or switch to bubble when boss comes. idc what u do as i said its roc strike. boss never concerns me. its always those pesky bugs that wastes time shooting at instead off boss.

3 RepliesI run Hunters on all my character slots, to me Titans are like the big brother who helps you with the bully.
-
6 RepliesTo all defenders, I give thanks. I really appreciate you guys in pve. All this master race stuff is invalid as far as y'all are concerned. That being said, in PvP you will taste some space magic or fire from the good ole golden gun. No break dancing in your bubbles while I'm around. Until my supers gone..... Then i run and you win. Lol

Oh yes. I do remember the days when I was a Striker. Very fun class, but honestly I find Defender a better setup overall. Better grenades (although the flashbang is godly in PVE) and a more helpful build, especially when going against bosses. But yes, if you ever see a Defender Bubble go up, get into it. It's either Weapons or Blessing. Except in Crucible. Then it's Armor. At that point, take out your shotty, stand in the bubble, and have fun getting those multi-kills.

I use it cause helm of saint 14 also. But weapons of light ftw

1 ReplyI have so much bad luck with defender titans because a lot of them still use their bubble as a panic button. Prime example was the last time I was running the Vault of Glass, and we were facing the Templar. We didn't take out enough harpies before the shield was down so the titan started taking a lot of damage. The conversation went as follows... Relic holder: "Shield going down!" Me: "Detained." Relic holder: "Breaking detained." Me: "Firing rockets." Titan: ... Proceeds to panic and throw up a bubble while standing next to me... Me: After killing myself with my rocket on hard mode as a hunter, "Did you seriously just F@CKING do that?" Titan: "My bad bro..." Keep in mind since I use Gjallahorn the team knows I will be firing rockets, and I always find my own little space away from the group to ensure that I don't fall victim to somebody accidentally stepping in front of me. He ran in a panic trying to get away from damage and when he couldn't threw up his bubble which was using blessing of light. I usually prefer to do most battles without a bubble period because I find them getting in way more than helping. Don't get me wrong there are a few fights that it really helps. For example the lantern maze in Crota's End. Nice to have a bubble thrown up in the back to jump into when the ogres show up to help defense. Most of the time with my luck Weapons of Light just creates a cluster of guardians that end up stepping on each others toes... 3 man strikes might be a different story though, but I rarely see people using defender in Roc missions.

8 RepliesI originally mained a hunter but when tdb came out I went with titan because they are the only supportive class that offers buffs for the whole team. Every other class are self benefiting supers. Titans are by far my favriot class now
-
Defender titan is better for punching things, I would rather make ALL THE ORBS over occasionally resetting storm fist/getting health regen or sometimes smashing something useless.
-
Defender in PVE is mad useful. Punch something=orbs, kill with heavy=orbs, bubble taking damage=orbs. Blind enemy as well. It's like Oprah you have a super, you have a super!! SUPER for everyone!! Plus weapon of light get stuff done :)
-
3 Repliesgood post mate. side note, if you use saint 14, in the omnigul strike as soon as all of the thralls spawn from that hallway on the left pop your bubble right in front of it, (make sure you have the ability turned on that makes orbs when you get melee kills with force barrier up) and you make easily 12+ orbs of light. the starless night ability on saint 14 is such an underrated pve tool
-
2 RepliesIf I Pop my bubble over one of the psions in the second Mars strike I expect everyone to join me in my punch fest. I use saint 14 so it is extra destructive. Most of the time people join in but it should be 100% of the time. Just saying
-
I enjoy my Defender much more then Striker. It's the only class that gives back to the community. Every other class has selfish moves that only affect them. Selfish!
-
This is true. Warning: If you grab rocket launcher ammo before I get there I WILL put a bubble around you as you shoot it. Kind of off topic, but I do it a lot :)
-
Lol love it

4 RepliesI'm a striker titan, and I totally nuked 5 idiots standing in a bubble in pvp... Have fun with that..
-
Striker for pvp and defender for pve, i have my class set up to make as many orbs as possible and i can give my teammates super pretty quick. I dont play pve that much so i dont care for pvp. And yes defender is not good for pvp. I was playing one match and i was a striker class and i saw a guy put a bubble up and so they start dancing. So i started dancing with them, i had my super also, and it they were pointing and such so i stopped dancing walked up a bit and did my super right on them killed all 4 of them haha oh it was funny. got some messages from them and boy they weren't happy.

I dislike my Titan most out of my 3 classes, all end game level ranged, but I will admit.. Defenders are almost essential for team events. They can $hit out more orbs than I can provide specials to burn
-
I feel ya. Been playing since beta and my titan is still my main squeeze. Defender is such a great class. That bubble is just so versatile! And don't get me started on force barrier. Do I want to make extra orbs or do I want a constantly charging over shield? Let's also not forget superssion grenades!! A Pvp nightmare of a grenade! See that pesky bladedancer or radianced (pretty sure that's not a word) sunsinger? Well let the butthurt commence when there super stops working and they have to recharge it again! All I can can do every time is kiss the tips of my fingers like an italian. It's just so beautiful! 😭
-
3 RepliesALSO if you see a defender run into a crown while glowing purple and he starts to punch things dont shoot the enemies. We are trying to make orbs and its piss annoying when people kill all of them before you can actually make any orbs.
-
Life as a Defender Titan with Randoms. Spawn Ward of Dawn with Weapons of Light, no one uses it. Use every Orb creating ability, no one picks up Orbs. Spawn Ward of Dawn. Teammate runs into Ward of Dawn. Teammate forgets/doesn't know you can't shoot through Ward of Dawn, and has a Rocket Launcher in hand.
-
I personally love defender over striker... both are good in situations... but I get super fast reload with def and weapon/blessings of light
-
3 RepliesWhat are three benefits of striker or defender? Just started a titan today
-
1 ReplyNot for me. Whenever a Defender Titan has a bubble it's never weapons of light or anything that benefits outside of the bubble. All the scrubs have armor of light which is only useful if stay inside of the bubble.
