To The Screeching Icebreaker Owners
The massive outcry of those who owned the Icebreaker prior to Xur carrying it is just a fascinating lesson in human psychology. The argument seems to be: "Now the Christmas newbs can buy it, and that's not fair because they didn't EARN it. Now my Icebreaker is worthless because everyone else has it!"
This blows my mind for 2 reasons.
1. The Icebreaker bought from Xur is infinitely more "earned" than a drop from RNGesus, because you have to actually grind to obtain strange coins, thus truly earning the right to purchase and own the weapon.
2. I got my Icebreaker in a totally random drop, and I'm not upset that my friends can now pick one up with strange coins they saved up and earned. It only makes the game better for us all. Now we can more effectively run raids and nightfall and weeklies. The fact that anyone would be outraged over the Xur Icebreaker is a reflection of pure human greed and the obsessive need to be a special snowflake.
It's great that Xur is carrying items that are more worth buying lately. It's a heck of a lot better than seeing Sunbreakers for the 80th time, or a terrible exotic like the No Land Beyond, isn't it? RNGesus, guys!

Dude, what are all these guys complaining about? If they were around when the game first started they would know that Xur sold the ice breaker the second or third week of the game's launch.

Well said man, well said. I never thought of the whole grinding for coins as actually "earning" the weapon, as opposed to getting a random drop.

The thing that gets me is that those complaining about IB being sold are typically those who ask (during a raid), "do you have an Icebreaker?"

just goes to show that you can't please everyone, assholes come in every flavor and will always find something to complain about. how does the next person buying something that you have claimed to "earned" affect you? you sound like some punk ass poser, this is coming from someone who "earned" my icebreaker.

Now just for giggles I broke down my old IB and bought the 2.0 version from xur. 3 RepliesI think perhaps Xur should come a bit less often, thats all. Maybe every two weeks, or even once a month. This could make his gear that bit more rare among players. I think perhaps because he comes once pere week, with exotics, so many people are now gaining exotic stuff and its no longer that rare. Apart from that I dont think its a major problem and I agree with what your saying generally.

4 RepliesI bought the ice breaker when xur sold it a few weeks after launch.i passed on the gally and oh boy has that came back to bite me in the ass.i still haven't had a gally drop and won't whine or complain about not having it.it was my dumb ass fault thinking I needed a good primary instead of a rocket launcher...

What's really hilarious is that... A. This isn't even the first time he's sold it and... B. You know half the people jumping on the bandwagon bought it from him the first time. They would never admit it though.
