Using relic special to shoot down oracles
Does anyone else uses the relic's special to help the team out during the last part of Vault of Glass? You can destroy an oracle with it or throw it at Atheon before putting the bubble up.
I have been in a lot of different teams but havent seen any relic holders do it.

I thought it was standard protocol? I do this all the time, every time. I also equip SGA and drop the relic if we're falling behind. My team NEVER wipes to oracles when i'm holding the relic.

Who need to special them? I just jump right to the oracle and whack it with a few melees. Ahh how I miss the shenanigans of the vault.

The way we run it is we all jump in the bubble with times vengeance and use Icebreakers. So it's absolutely crucial that they keep the shield up so we don't get blasted by atheon point blank

1 ReplyI just drop the relic and shoot down one oracle. Pick relic back up, put it back down kill another, and so on until there are two left. Cleanse the the portal team once more the head out and pop a relic super at Atheon and then throw the shield. But it's important to remember not everyone is as practice with the relic. Just my 2 cents. :)

I do it on the second to last one. So I can run out and have the shield up quicker.

do it every chance I get and once you leave the portal if done correctly you will have it in time to use it on atheon before needing shied

I use it for Venus oracles & holding the portals in Gatekepper to killl praetorians coming out

If I'm in a group that when transported the two guys on Oracles duty cannot get them down I usually go and find a better group.

I do it everytime when I'm not with my team, otherwise it is not necessary. I use it on the last oracle usually

Yup - I'm left baffled when the Relic dude does not do this.

I use it on the 3rd or fourth Oracle. Then I leave after the fifth is killed. Set up before the times vengeance is up.

We do this when we need help at the end of oracles in the portal but we discourage it at atheon, cause our guy misses every time, then we get torch hammered...

I've never shot an oracle but I usually shoot Atheon with the special once everyone is out of the bubble.

Ha, I just jump up in the air and shield smash all the oracles.

If you're good enough you can even jump into the air next to an oracle and hit it with the relic too.

Yeah if I have a good team and get out quick enough I super Atheon. It does naff all but it's a little bit extra. I will use it on oracles too if I feel they aren't going down fast enough, especially on hard. Once I got inside and there were a ton of orbs from the last run so I used it on the adds. Felt good.

Wow. You must get shitty teams. I literally yell at the relic holder if they don't use the super and ONLY use it as a bubble shield. if you ONLY use the relic as a bubble shield, DONT PICK IT UP, CAUSE YOURE USING IT WRONG. [spoiler]*mouth fart noise*[/spoiler]

1 ReplyYeah man everytime I have the shield and can shoot it at something i do. Same with the gatekeeper part. Once that thing is charged SHOOT SOMETHING WITH IT!!!! It's half of the fun of holding the relic :)
