I think it's hilarious everyone who says dragons breath is bad.
It doesn't have tracking.
The solar grenade left doesn't last long enough.
It is too slow of velocity.
IT ISN'T BAD, YOU JUST DON'T HAVE SKILL. Any decent player could play with any set of maxed weapons and still be efficient.
Here's what Dragons Breath does have:
It does hold three shells in one clip.
It does have a bigger blast radius than any rocket launcher.
And it holds the most the rockets.
So you take your tracking, Wolfpack rounds, and 2 rockets per clip. I'll take 3 rockets per clip, an additional rocket in ammo capacity, a solar grenade, and a bigger blast radius any day.
"Burn the world, burn it all."
Edit 1: For those of you who continue to say gjallarhorn is better than dragons breath, obviously misunderstood my post or clearly just didn't read it. It wasn't to say which was better because every gun serves a purpose. ( maybe even No Land Beyond some day) This was just to state that the launcher itself, in my opinion, is not bad. I NEVER SAID IT WAS BETTER, just that it isn't a bad launcher.

lol I don't care really if I had exotic guns I would keep all of them you know how rare and valuable they are
-
I don't even have it leveled and I can tell it's good. If you hate, you likely can't get by so well without the extra cluster or tracking. It's cool, we're not all awesome aims. ;-)

I use rockets for majors and ultras. If they are going to step out of the solar grenade I might as well just toss my own lock grenades which last longue due to sunbreakers and save an exotic spot. I get more effect out of Hunger of Crota which does instant damage and in a wider radius.

Currently leveling dragons breath. Going back to gjallarhorn after
-
So you'd much rather have a mediocre rocket launcher which pushes enemies out of it's grenades?
-
6 RepliesDragons breath is awful, guides have shown it's the worst exotic rocket launcher. Da fuq you on about sunshine

Dragon's breath is.....different. Try this, do the Valus strike. Use pulsing grenades to get him close to a corner. Then shoot all DB rockets at him. Does it outdamage Gjallhorn? No. But in specific situations its close. Lol the solar flare needs a huge buff. Imo DB should be stronger because it has no tracking at all and bosses walk out of the flare. Have fun.
-
It isn't bad, but one of the reasons I passed on it was A) low coins and B) the solar flare is a little short (saw a friend use it). Would work well as a AOE denial monster (That's a no brainer. 3 shells that all leave a solar flare for about 20 seconds or so, dealing DOT (burning damage))
-
It would be better if you didn't have to drop all to upgrade the velocity. Until you get it upgraded it can't hit crap to save its life

24 RepliesDragons breath is actually really good. The thing is.. this forum is filled with people that dont have brains. If 1 item is 2% more efficient than the latter... the former will be considered good and the latter trash. This is there so that these basement dwellers feel good about themselves, just something to fill the empty gaping hole in their soul. /sips coffee

I wouldn't say dragons breath is bad I mean if you level it up its actually quite nice against the enemies that don't move as much and is effective for getting crota down. I will say this however the fact that it doesn't have tracking does hurt its not about being skilled at all the enemies im this game strafe so much you would swear they were playing PvP. You don't always have time to position and aim for the best shot that's why tracking is such a great perk, also in regards to Dragons Breath itself I don't like the effect that the solar nade does maybe if Atheon was still able to be pushed off? Lol all in all its not a bad rocket launcher I was jus hoping that it would be better or at least rival the gjallyhorn oh well.

Now here we go. Truth has tracking. Monster Tracking at that. A true fire and forget launcher. Crota's Hunger & Gjallarhorn both have tracking. They can miss if enemies roll. Now Gally has a secret built in proximity perk. From experiments I've run with buds of mine I know it's there or maybe I'm just crazy. I don't own a Gally myself but I would love to have one. I use Dragon's Breath the most to keep crowds from entering areas or to give my time some quick breathers to retaliate. Use it smartly and it outperforms Gally and Truth on certain areas of maps. I've seen it personally again. Now for those of you saying Dragons Breath sucks it doesn't. It's a monster weapon that may lack tracking but I don't really care because I don't need trackers much. Although I can agree the truth is hella funny to use on poor Suckers. I have crazy fun with my Breath because it's so rancid it stays and yeah enemies leave the flare but there's another key element they leave the flare where you can be and find a quick route for escape which I use. All in all I just find this and the truth the most fun of rockets. Gjallarhorn is for serious mode and I always do my best to have fun.

I like dB I'll use it when it I can. I got hoc and favor it because it also have icebreaker so I can use both. If i had a ghorn I'd be scrambling to find the best secondary legendary I could so I could use it all the time. Till then it's ib and hoc. Later it's bh and ghorn

I have a dragons breath and gjallarhorn but I still somewhat prefer the hunger of crota just because it's s legendary and let's me use my icebreaker or vex or something but I personally don't have the gjallarhorn maxxed or the dragons breath so I can't really say they suck haha hopefully soon they will be

1 ReplyUr dumb, just becuz u have skill dont means the weapon is good..
-
The solar grenade isn't that good because not that many enemies stay still enough for the grenade to be fully effective. Its good in some occasions but if u don't have a galahorn
-
1 ReplyUsed db last night against fallen walker. It ripped it up. Now I don't mind nit having Jellyhorn. Truth and db are great. I keep my exotic slots for rocket launchers. Jellyhorn one day but very happy for now.
-
Dragons breath is good in crotas end for dealing with shriekers, shredders and wizards.
-
It would be sweet if it had seeking rockets , other negative is that most of the ai immediately moves away from the solar flare
-
1 ReplyIt's not that the solar grenade doesn't last long. It's that the enemies just walk right out, and anyone who is stupid enough to just stand in it in PVP shouldn't be playing PVP
