What I wouldn't give to have Microtransactions in this game. $1 for 6 ascendent shards seems about right. You could have all the other materials and glimmer on a similar price structure. What about exotic weapon packs? Hell yeah. Shaders, ships, ghost shells etc. No more rng! Can't believe activision and Bungie missed this opportunity.
Please get behind this. Together we can make this happen!

1 ReplyYou're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater...

Id buy a gjallarhorn
-
Only one I would accept : $5 ice breaker
-
Hell no to that. If microtransactions happen I'll be done with this game. Those ruin games.
-
I'm out if micro transactions come into Destiny. They are the definition of pay to win.

Everyone should stop replying and bumping this. What do you all think about that idea? Like my comment if you agree! Reply if you think I'm right, and let's get this thread sent straight to the bottom of the forum!

so $3 to rank up ONE piece or armor, have you done the math to get to level 31? Microtransactions are for 'free to play' games so that people that can't spend $60 on a game can spend $300 getting upgrades. Go read 'free to play' game forums and see how much people spend on the game. People that are not comfortable spending $60 on a game will be slaughtered by people that spend $500 or even $1000/year on the game. This business model exists not to help you but to make you angry and thus want to pay more than $60 for the game. Never support these types of games. Look how the Forza series (5, Horizon 2) bombed as they turned a previously great value into a microtransaction game (on top of the $60, plus they hosed up a few other things too).

Ya cause destiny needs more content cut/locked and resold to us

6 Ascendant shards for a dollar...? I'm sad you think that's actually worth a dollar.

18 RepliesPersonally, I dont care either way. But what I find quite telling is all the caustic responses from people about this, yet people will preach "Its my game and has nothing to do with your game" when it comes to cheating. What is the difference? If I choose to buy whatever is being sold, how does that influence your game at all if cheating doesnt influence my game?
-
Only pay for shaders, ships, and sparrows....
-
2 RepliesPay to win? Lol. But I would pay for aesthetic features :)
-
Umm how about nooooooo!

I love Destiny! I love a game with a lot of social and coop aspects. It's something me and my wife can do together. But if they did make micro transactions then I'd quit! Yes,I get frustrated not getting the gear or materials I need because of RNG. But if one should grind,we all should!
-
1 ReplyNo. Micro transactions and pay to win are everything that is wrong with gaming. This game would lose half the community if they implement that BS.
-
You. Get out of my internet.

Edited by narcolepticjedi: 1/3/2015 1:26:33 PMI would stop playing destiny if they ever announced that. Microtransactions and the trash that supports them are the bane of online gaming.
-
Only for cosmetic stuff like armour and weapon skins, sparrows etc. Any in game performance or grind upgrades would be idiotic to want. The game lacks content for the price as is why pay more? Rng just needs to be addressed.
-
That would defeat the whole purpose of the game, why do anything if you can just buy the item? Then when you have the item why would you raid if there's nothing you don't need? Silly idea
-
Isn't that already in their contract lol?
-
I personally don't want a pay2win destiny.
-
That would make it too easy. I prefer not knowing if I'm going to get the nicest DLC weapons, or if it'll be 4 days worth of daily missions before I see an ascendant shard. Definitely makes those rewards feel a little more earned (I know you 'earn' nothing from RNGesus). If I could just buy that stuff for a buck then there would be no point to the grind, nightfall or the raids. I certainly wouldn't waste my time with a destiny like that.
-
I feel like any form of microtransactions would lead to a game chat filled with farmers shouting spam in languages they barely speak. I think that's why budgie hasn't added a trading system either
-
I'll sell you ascendant shards. 6 for 1$. But you have to buy all 580 of mine.
