WARNING TO ANYONE VISITING XUR!
Dragon's Breath is horrible and a waste of an exotic slot.
Please, save yourself the embarrassment of being seen with it and the waste of Strange Coins and don't buy it!
Just wait for Hunger of Crota to drop for you from the raid because it is 10x better.
Here is the rundown of why Hunger of Crota easily outclasses Dragon's Breath.
[b]Hunger of Crota ---> Holds two rockets, has tracking, has cluster bombs after detonation
Dragon's Breath ---> Holds three rockets, leaves a Warlock Solar Flare grenade after detonation[/b]
EDIT: This post was intended for KinderGuardians who would have to choose between an item this week or next week.
There are plenty of other rocket launchers better than Dragon's Breath and plenty of better Exotic heavy weapons.
I didn't want a Guardian kicking themselves because they bought DB this week but Gjallarhorn was available next week.

7 RepliesEveryone has been absolutely spoiled by tracking. If your any good with a launcher, you don't need the tracking and you don't need maxed velocity. Dragons breath works just fine.

It's called having friends to do the weekly and having strange coins to throw. I am making a collection of exotics, it's a great looking weapon that doesn't perform good enough. It's a good collectors item.

That's not true. I've had this game since Launch. Dragon's Breath has an INSANE blast radius. I think it's the highest in the game. Plus you can upgrade velocity and it holds a large number of rockets. This is a phenomenal gun. You may just not really know how to use it if you think it sucks. Then again, everyone has an opinion.

It's the coolest looking rocket launcher and all u gotta do is stop being lazy with tracking and shoot accurately ;) I do however agree with u the hunger is better. It's the one I use most and I like the fact it's legendary so I can use icebreaker with it.

I have dragons breath and love it in pvp. Why does anyone need tracking on a rocket launcher anyway? Just point and shoot at target. Besides getting 3-4 kills per shot at control points is awesome, especially when the noobs jump right into the solar flare afterwards.

If you can actually aim, Dragons breath is superior. The blast radius is huge and the solar flare hits pretty hard

Eh I'd buy them both.. Right now I have truth, dragons breath, and hunger of crota and I just need gjallahorn and I'll have all the best launchers.. But honestly I do usually just switch between song of ir yut, and hunger..

It's good there are people like you looking out for new players. I missed suros because alpha lupi chest (hunter) was being sold at the same time. I didn't like auto rifles at the time so i bought the chest plate.

6 RepliesHunger of crota was the first weapon I got from Crotas end.. That's what I use when my icebreaker is equipped. I got dragons breath from xur just to have another exotic.. Same reason I got no land beyond (which isn't that bad)

Dragon's Breath might be the best someone has, embarrassment is for those with no skill. It's not awful and it actually works ok for some enemies and bosses. Dropping a DB flare at the enemy spawns portals on Seige of the Warmind actually works good. Same with Telhor, etc. It's all about application, maybe you should open your style or at least not tell others how to play or assume they will have the RNG luck you have had.

I actually like the blast radius. Lets also not forget, Bungie has and will update exotics. Who knows, maybe Dragons Breath will get a buff in the future that makes it best-in-class. You never know. It doesn't matter to me though, I bought it to add to my collection.

Bit of an odd thing to say that. All the weapons have their uses its just down to the skill of the guardian to pick the right tool for the job. I applaud a little diversity - in my humble opinion it wouldn't be too interesting if we all ran around with the same rocket launcher don't you think? Ps noted DB looks v much like the fuselage of a spitfire - love the exhausts on either side!

The solar flare from DB is garbage because it doesn't last long or cause burning. Any enemy not killed by the initial blast easily moves out of the way of the flare, and the thing has such low velocity that you have to considerably predict where the enemy will be long after you fire it.
