If you make fun of a person with a "disability"
Hello, I want to talk about this kind of stuff where people treat other people with a disability like crap.(i know this isn't about destiny but this happened in a fireteam with some guy) I want to state (Please don't hate. hey that rhymed lol) i am 15 and have a stutter. Its not a once in a while thing. It happens all the time. Either if i don't have (crazy as it may sound) "momentum or I talk too fast. Even when i talk slow i stutter.(I have stuttering blocks which is where it feels like you have no air left and just --------)So to that kid who tries to impersonate me by p-----lay des-----tiny. Think about going out to eat in a diner or something and struggling to tell them what you want. The most pure form of embarrassment. And stuttering does nit mean you are stupid -_- tell that to my honors classes. And the final thing is people hurting people with disabilities. Real disabilities not stuttering. Such as the 15 year old beat up a 22 year old man with cerbal pawsy. You people make me sick. Is this what the world has come too? Our generation isn't looking too good so far....... If you made it this far thank you. I hope you have learned something about this problem. Needs to stop NOW.

2 RepliesI say this, young man: Hang in there. It is a difficult condition that will even shape your personality into adulthood. It can be brutal when your young peers are relentless. Easy to say, but ignore. As an adult, it would only occur from those you are clearly superior to. I have 2 very good friends that both stuttered. One is a medical geek who runs MRI machines, the other is a trader for a huge firm who gets bonuses more than most families make in a year. Point being is that while as a teenage man, it feels greater than it is. As an adult, you will not be judged accordingly, based on your academic achievements that you have shared.

Nice post.. i couldnt agree more.. making fun of someone for something they cant help is a pure act of cowardice and just shows people that they (the shit talkers) have major insecurity issues themselves. Back in HS, i was the bullys bully.. i couldn't Stand bullies who preyed on people. Lots of suspensions resulted from giving these pricks a taste of their own medicine.

I remember I played with some kid and he ha a stud seeing problem and sometimes he wouldn't turn on his mic when we would go play online cause literally everyone would make fun of him like he was a cool kid but I haven't talked to him in awhile since I got my ps3

I hate it when people make fun of others for things they cannot control. Some kids were gonna gang up and fight some kid with a problem (not sure what it was because it was long ago) because the kid was getting mad with them picking on him so the bullies great idea was get 2 others together and pick on him to see if they could start a fight. So I did the same I talked to some friends standing nearby and said hey if they start to hit him are you guys ok to jump in and either stop it or something? The kids finally backed off the kid still after we got close and started talking to him.

It usually gets better don't worry :) This is coming from another guy with a stutter but I'm 27. I use to be real bad and got teased a lot for it and believe me I know what you mean by "momentum". I used to begin all my sentences with "hey" because it seemed natural and was always an easy word to say. I was bad especially with "M" and "W" words. Anyway, since being out of high school I have very little stutter now. Only really showing up when I get really excited. I was also an honor student and have a great job now. The people that used to bully me among others, well I enjoy saying to them now "Yes. I would like fries with that." Cliché yeah I guess but it's the truth.

Especially since he is probably one of the sweetest guys you could ever meet. I usually don't say anything to people if they use it just because so many people say it, but if this could get even 1 person to stop using it that would be amazing.

I used to make fun of depressed people in my teens until a morbidly crushing depression settled in on me in my early 20s. I'm over it now, but still my heart goes out to people with any kind of disorder. mental or physical

I read your post, and tried to read more of the responses. Some people don't realize that you probably play games to get the sense of overcoming the very obstacle that you deal with most in your life. I am glad to hear that you are succeeding in school with honors. Keep your chin up, people are disgruntled that you are ignoring your disability and doing with your life what others couldn't do without disabilities. I'm on PS3, and would love the chance to catch up with you, but I'm sure you have found a decent group of guardians through this post.

Keep on the good work and never stop believing in you. A community is a microcosm representing a fringe of the population. Often times those mocking are dealing with their own issues. You pointed out the wrong but I am sure you have been with guardians who treated you well too. Embrace that side. Cheers
