The "DLC is only $20, you can buy it" argument
This argument is terrible man.
Sure, $20 may be considered cheap to most. (Myself included)... But the fact that the DLC is not [i]worth[/i] the $20 according to most of y'all is why me and plenty others I know have not bought it yet.
I shouldn't be forced to pay more money to continue to play what I've been enjoying for the past few months.
Edit: This thread has taught me none of y'all know how to read. [b]Nobody[/b] is saying it's too expensive, I just wanted to address how some of you kept looking down on people who don't own it and automatically assuming it's because of money

Your measurement is stupidly subjective - "oh I don't like it, so its not worth 20 bucks." It's "entertainment content," which simply occupies your time. If you calculate all the time spent doing DLC (bounties, new missions, strikes, raid, leveling weapons, armor, etc.) in terms of hours of your life the content occupies, this dlc is worth way more than 20 bucks. You know what wasn't worth 20 bucks? Anything related to COD: Ghosts, fifa UT packs (which you can literally spend 20$ in minutes on), I could go on. You can have an opinion - like criticizing the dlc because it doesn't fit your personal taste. What you cannot do, and what frankly makes you sound like an idiot, is claim that it isn't worth 20$. That argument is just ignorance and misguided angst.

I absolutely agree people who didn't buy DLC should not be locked out of their game in any way! That would be like playing COD and not downloading the new DLC and all of a sudden, you can't play Team DeathMatch, Kill Confirmed and Domination ... All because there's a new map in a random playlist that you don't have. You paid for the right to do the nightfall, weekly heroic and daily, with original game. If it's going to be DLC, you should have an alternative to do

2 RepliesGuess what, if you played WoW, every time the level cap increases you'd have to pay $60 on top of a $15 monthly fee. Get over yourself, its dlc, new content, you're not going to get it for free you entitled brat. $20 is nothing, entertainment wise, its about double the cost of a movie ticket. And you'll get more than 4-5 hours of entertainment out of it if you already enjoy the game.

5 RepliesCan you define "worth the $20"? I went with my wife to see a movie last weekend. Cost $20 for both of us for 2.5 hours of entertainment. To me, that was worth it. I spent $35 for the expansion pass. Have gotten way more than 2.5 hours of entertainment with online and IRL friends. To me, that was worth it. Now to you, $20 for the DLC may not be "worth it" to you. And no one is forcing you to pay more money to continue playing the game. But now that the DLC is out, there are certain activities/events that require the additional content. I have a feeling you're only going to be in more of a pickle once House of Wolves is released. And continuously as more DLC is announces/released.

No but you should be forced to pay to play the new DLC and Bungie should be allowed to update their game to include the DLC so that those who bought it get to benefit from purchasing it. You dont think its worth it...thats fine....I bought the double pack so it would only cost me ~ 15 per DLC not $20 and I think the DLC is worth it. But if you dont thats fine...however you cant complain when you cant play the new DLC stuff when you dont purchase it. I agree with others that bungie was nice to let you get lvl 31 and 331 weapons. You arent being forced to pay money to continue to play...your being forced to pay money to play the new DLC. If you dont want to then you only get to play what you have been enjoying for the past few months.

when the DLC was bein released, there was an overwhelming community movement of players who were willing to purchase the DLC for other players who could not afford it. It actually turned out that there were more members willing to buy for someone else, than memebers who needed the help.

19 RepliesYou can't have it both ways. If having a Nightfall and Weekly Heroic to play every week isn't worth $20, then it isn't worth coming here and complaining about not having it. Your purchase of the release version of the game bought you ACCESS to these weekly, community events. They did not buy you your own personalized content. Because what happens when the House of Wolves drops? Bungie then has to maintain THREE versions of the Nightfall? One for those didn't buy any of the DLC; one for those who only bought the TDB, and another one for those who bought the HoWs???

1 ReplyThe first day of the dlc I logged about 12 hours playing the raid and the story missions. That is worth 20 in its own. I don't know any place I can go and pay 20 to have fun all day.
