This argument is terrible man.
Sure, $20 may be considered cheap to most. (Myself included)... But the fact that the DLC is not worth the $20 according to most of y'all is why me and plenty others I know have not bought it yet.
I shouldn't be forced to pay more money to continue to play what I've been enjoying for the past few months.
Edit: This thread has taught me none of y'all know how to read. Nobody is saying it's too expensive, I just wanted to address how some of you kept looking down on people who don't own it and automatically assuming it's because of money

Just by the expansion pass its 35$ cheaper then spending 40 on both

3 RepliesI agree with you. Another way to look at it: Just because you go out and buy a 20k car Doesn't mean you bought a spoiler & advanced sound system.. And just because you didn't , doesn't mean someone can call you poor. It doesn't mean someone can say "you can't afford the spoiler ? You shouldn't have a car" these are stupid arguments. Each to their own, if you don't want the DLC by choice, it's your call, maybe you are simply happy with the main content.
-
Nobody is saying it's too expensive,
Actually, by saying it's not worth $20, YOU are saying it too expensive. I don't think you know what that word means... http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/expensive ... Learn what words mean before you use them.

$20 dollars is more reasonable than £20. The price and stories of missing content stops me getting any dlc for this game but if it was cheaper maybe...
-
Edited by Sonic Roctopus: 1/1/2015 9:59:57 AMYOU said it's too expensive. "Not worth the $20" so it's worth less, therefore currently, at least to you, it is too expensive.

3 RepliesNew weapons, new armor, new raid, new strikes, new vendor, new bounties, new shaders, emblems, etc. How is that not worth $20... Seriously
-
Why is it not worth 20 dollars. It's more destiny content. People mindlessly shell out money for cod map packs without a second glance but when we get a sizable amount of stuff for nearly the same price it's a huge deal? I'll happily pay 20 for expansions. It could have been worse.
-
You can panhandle $20 in a few hours. You can find $20 in change in a few days max. You can earn $20 in an hour mowing lawns. You can borrow $20 from almost any friend or family member. You can stop being a bum and spend $20 or stop crying.
-
Its like paying for a movie and have the theater tell you that you gota pay 3 more dollers to watch the last 10 minuts...... you gona pay it but are not going to be happy about it.
-
I'm still getting content out of it, weekly resets means more raiding. Plus I've played the new strike playlist a bunch. Plus I get to do the NIghtfall every week regardless. Plus I have a bunch of new weapons to play with. Plus I have the Gloriole Jump Ship, worth twenty on it's own. Plus I have more bounties every day now. I'm sure there are more but it's too early and I'm hungry.
-
Edited by Coolikejohnny: 1/1/2015 5:26:54 AMThe DLC has more content than three minutes. I spent 20 dollars on a three minute dance from a stripper. Either you want the entertainment or not, simple.

5 RepliesCrotas end is worth $20 alone
-
First let me start off by saying I don't condone what bungie/activision are doing in regards to locking paying customers out of the weekly/nightfalls. There should be 2 different playlists. That being said, you have made a stand, and typically when making a stand there are repercussions for your decision. To me $20 was worth it to participate in all content. I played this game 700 hours before the dlc. Did my gut tell me I shouldn't buy it in hopes of making a better stand for improvements and player driven economies? It sure did. However, I did get my $60 worth even though a lot of it was rinse and repeat. I have a lot of fun with my friends playing destiny and decided another $20 was a small price to pay for another 3-400 hours of play time. Do I think some of the changes are stupid? I sure do. However, what are we gonna do about it? I will continue playing this game in the hopes all major concerns are addressed by destiny 2. If you want to make a stand for gamers, a far superior action would be to stop preordering games altogether. This year alone should highlight that fact. Wait for launch day reviews by unbiased sources. That will have more of an effect on the gaming industry rather then withholding $20 for "dlc". Ps4, xb1, 360, PS3 need to stop feeding into the hate. We're all gamers we just prefer different consoles. "United we stand, together we fall". Happy New Year guardians. Be safe.

Who cares?? Buy it or dont.. If you support bungie and activision based on all of the great games theyve produced over the years, why not show it by buying a couple dlc's? Its $20, not alot of money when you consider the number of hours youlll put into it..
-
You aren't technically locked out of the weeklies. You are only locked out of the Omnigul strike...so you can't play it when it's the weekly. With that said...it does sick for non-DLCers but it would suck for DLCers if it wasn't in the rotation as well. For me, the DLC has definitely been worth it since I preordered with Digital Guardian Edition especially...meaning I paid $15 for it. For others, I can see how it may not be worth it. If you don't like the game it's certainly not. Overall, I love the game and feel like I've gotten a great deal on a great game that has provided me with a lot enjoyment. Once the patched up Hard Mode releases...hopefully CE will b fully legit for players to take down. It's such a fun raid when done legit.

It seems that there is a handful of people complaining about not getting to play certain times events in Destiny. That would be some that did not buy DLC. "It's a matter of principal" they say. Ok, but what about the people that did pay extra for the DLC? Should they not be able to get special play time for the extra content they purchased? Look at the Xbox players that paid the same price as PlayStation players. Xbox players are missing out on content that PlayStation have for a year. Good or bad. I get some of the frustration, but good god . Give it a rest already. This game has had some bad marketing ideas. It is not the end of the world. At the end of the day it is still just a game. Not happy? Trade it in. Still playing it? Shut the hell up already or design your own damn game and make it better.

6 RepliesEdited by Lazuliv: 1/1/2015 3:51:56 AMIf you don't want it don't buy it. You've seen Bungie's practices. If you don't want to be locked out of the nightfall pay up. If not you can't really complain. Well, you can but don't expect a lot of remorse.

Welcome to the world of MMO gaming, give us your money scrub.
-
Isn't there already a thread that says that a person(s) will buy it for you if you can't afford it? If that's the case, then what's the issue?
-
2 RepliesNo! We non dlc players should get what was originally included in the game!
-
64 Replies$5 for a new raid. $5 for new strikes. $5 for new missions. $5 for new weapons. If you set it out like that... It is pretty worth it.
-
its not like this is going to lower the price so it doesn't matter if you argue about it, just buy it or don't.
its that simple
-
Still better than "I won't pay for On-disc DLC".
-
17 Repliesya only the simpletons cant see the reasoning behind people complaining its not worth $20...its not about the money m0rons, its about the principle...if 1 million people bought this garbage "DLC" (aka cut content from the main story that should of just been included in this generic watered down launch game given to us) then thats $20 million they made off this crap. This company doesnt deserve $20 million or more off this "DLC". Its principle....stop encouraging bungie like its ok for this kind of crap cut content "DLC". Matter of fact people with this arguement "its only $20" needs to go superglue their fingers together and stop typing/playing games altogether, they're the ones ruining the industry.
-
4 RepliesI'm with you OP. The dlc is is not worth $20. Sure the new content is nice and CE raid is fun but not $20 worth of fun IMO.
-
19 RepliesWow! Ok, i'm thinking gaming is too steep for you, we're not talking about two paddles & a square ball on a 13" screen here! Just get a box of chalk, and play some hop-scotch on mommy's driveway and get some sun on your face! Or take the skirt off, get a job, mow lawns, rake leaves, shovel snow, suck D, whatever & get the dlc. Destiny (and other mmo types) are like a call girl, you can pay $20 bux for a good time........... Or pay nearly $100 bux for the time of your life! Your choice. Do you want Lindsay Lohan or Beyonce in your bed??
