Any ledgionary weapon will be fraction specific. U can get lucky from an enegram or weekly-nightfall. Also for every rep level 3 and above u get a fraction package. These packages drop weapons and armor u can never buy. Amongst other things as well. Level 30 dead orbit ftw

How fast is faction progress compared to standard? Also, do faction progressions require commendations?

Just to be clear, vanguard bounties give vanguard rep. Strike playlisy gives vanguard rep. Patrol missions give vanguard rep. Weekly night fall and heroic give vanguard rep. Cruciable loss and wins give cruciable rep. Cruciable bounties give cruciable rep. Now if u buy and equipt a class item from new monarchy,dead orbit, or future war cult. All of the above rep is converted to that fraction with it equipped. If u equipped a non fraction class item ur rep gains will apply as normal.

Rep level progression does not require commendations only rep. Commendations are used to purchase weapons and armor along side cruciablr marks. But to be honest the best weapons and armor come from the reward packages. Sadly so do commendations.......

Fractions are twice as fast as vanguard and cruciable, since while u wear a fraction class item all vanguard rep AND cruciable rep is converted to that fraction.
