I'm new to these forums so I apologize if this has already been brought up a lot... but recently I purchased an Exotic Ingram from Xur for 23 Mote of Light and it turned out to be for the WRONG CLASS.
Anyone else experience this? I'm afraid to do it again because that is a lot of Mote of Light for nothing... basically I'm spending 23 for an exotic shard instead of 7 or whatever it is. BUNGIE PLEASE FIX THIS YOUR MORONS.

Read the possible contents. It says, 'Exotic Armor(Random Class)' Sorry you missed it
-
No, this happens (and more often than not). 23 motes of lights aren't bad for an exotic shard. There is not much else to spend that currency on. BTW Exotic shards cost 7 strange coins.

Dude I am a hunter and a got friken sun breakers but I created a new user that was a warlock and put the sun breakers in my vault and switched users to my warlock and it is now a level 20 I put my exotic sun breakers on my warlock and is now a level 23 because how much light it contained it will help another character that is the other class and btw what item did you get and what class is it

Edited by Nashtalia: 12/31/2014 2:46:58 PMread the description :) rNg says hello

It's a random exotic helmet for any class. You take the gamble and see what you get. Relax.
-
That is a potential result of engrams. It is intentional. To mitigate the problem create and use three different characters.
-
It says so in the item description lol
-
In parentheses is says random class stating you are only guaranteed the armor type and that's is an exotic it's like weapon ones you dunno if it'll be a hand cannon, pulse rifle, scout, or auto rifle you just know it's a primary
-
One day young padawan you will learn motes are pretty much useless at this point. It is also a gamble. The cryptarch rarely gives you what you want.
-
Its happened to me about 4 times in a row. Expensive to keep trying
-
Read the specs of the engram friend. "Exotic (some shit) (Any Class)"
-
1 ReplyDescription of the engram: "Exotic(random class)" Notice anything there?

You must be new here
-
Why I run one of each class....
-
Why hello christmas,...noob?
-
thats why one needs three different classes , not 3x the same to cheese raid rng

Had to recheck to make sure I didn't see a satire tag... It is a normal thing it, as it even states on the engram it can decrypt to a random class. Last time, it took me three engrams to get a helm for my hunter. All purchased on the hunter...
-
If you read the engram it specifically says (random class). Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. It is still the best thing to spend your motes on. At worst its a exotic shard, which will save you coins, at best it's something you really want. The only other place to spend motes is with the speaker for worthless aesthetic decorations.

This happened to me when I only had my main warlock. I got both a Titan and hunter helm. I took it as a sign from the gods of destiny to make two other characters. Worked out in my favor.

8 RepliesI am sorry, but it is you whom should be calling oneself a moron. Motes of light are NOT used to buy Exotic shards, strange coins are, furthermore, this is one of the only two venders whom use Motes of light for a currency. They are not that hard to obtain. The engram [not ingram] Is a random class, i believe that is stated upon the engram when you buy it, i could be mistaken. But there is nothing to fix, enjoy destiny. -signed, A guardian who knows.
