The world is so empty and gentle. It's perfect for those below 20, but what about those who have hit the ceiling?

There should be a hard mode patrol.[/b]
In hard mode patrol, you can have up to six in a fireteam, and there'd be more enemies, more majors, more ultras, more STUFF HAPPENING. There would be sword bearers invading everywhere, pike gangs riding like they own the place, public events falling like rain, enemies moving against each other 24/7, spawn rates increased for everything, everywhere. It'd be the freaking apocalypse.
You want to have a good time with your friends? Hard mode patrol would be the happening place.
There could be patrol missions that send you on stuff from the story, or strike events that allow you to join a strike. You could pick up a mission that tells you to end Telthor, or Phogoth, or Valus Ta'Aurc. And these missions wouldn't be the normal missions, either; you're in hardmode patrol, doing hard mode missions and strikes, with a super sized fireteam: the missions would be hell on wheels, and the strikes would be worthy of nightfall.
And you could do them all with up to five friends.
Now tell me you're not absopositively creaming yourself at the thought of that.

Edited by NinjaCyril: 1/1/2015 1:41:06 PMThis is a big chance for Bungie to show the Destiny community how much they care about us. Implementing something like this would show the players that they are serious about the game world having a decade-long lifespan. Come on please Bungie!

Patrol needs more events first.

1 ReplyOr some survival stuff either waves or something else that is a challange. A long strike that just gets harder and harder. And some kind of ladder system for it, survived the longest or fastest time.

Good post and great idea. Also, weekly heroic re-spawn rules: must be revived by another player if you die; if you are not in a fireteam, you have to wait for a Good Samaritan or go to orbit.

Would be awesome

bump again, I'd really like it if deej could at least respond to this, if we keep it relevant they will I'm sure.

Best thing I've seen on this forum, that would be a blast.

3 RepliesThere should be an impossible patrol as well, just for shock value

I shall bump the shit out of this in the hope Bungie reply and go "Working on it!".

I would like to see more activities requiring a 6 man fireteam. /sign

This wouldn't be too hard to implement in game right?

I hope bungie have read this

21 RepliesEdited by 6 speed: 12/30/2014 6:48:03 PMMy idea is multi-stage objectives within a single patrol mission. All those ether sups you just collected? Take them to an extraction point in another area if the map. And getting there shouldn't be as simple as drive sparrow from point a to point b. No you'll have to fight your way to the extraction point, secure it and defend it until the transport is away. By the way the fallen are kinda pissed you keep scavanging things they need to survive, so don't be surprised when they drop a fallen walker into your LZ to keep that transport from leaving. For those of you keeping score: That's a kill and collect mission A sweep and clear mission And a public even all rolled into one. Edit: Here is a similar idea: It starts with a public event such as the fallen walker. As soon as you and your fire team take down the walker, you have to move one of it's components, say it's power core, and move it to a destination across the map, an extraction point. The whole time defending it from opposing forces. Secure the LZ as before. Wait for the transport to take the core while defending the LZ. Better yet, you and your fire team will use the core as a bomb against a target. You'll move the bomb, while defending it. Except this time You'll be defending it not only against the fallen who want it back but also against the Hive because you're gonna use that core/bomb to take out one of their Seeders or underground nests. Now that I think about it the second one would work way better as a public event. Can't you imagine multiple fire teams working together to secure the objective against an onslaught of Fallen and Hive? I can and it sounds glorious. As I see it the problem with public events is they can be soloed and the reward for completing them isn't that great to be begin with. I've lost track of how many times I've soloed the fallen walker in the divide. Or extraction crews in the steppes. And why is band a of pikes even a public event? You get nothing from it other than hijacking a pike. The only reason I do the fallen walker so much is for the daily reward, (which usually turns into motes of lights or useless blue engrams I can't use) the handful of marks/rep and the ascendent materials. These are descent rewards but a pubic event should be just that, a huge public event. It should take multiple fireteams to take down a walker. To be fair I've never or rarely been able to solo "Eliminate the Target." They are massive bullet sponges. Even after my Hunter unleashes all four shots from the golden gun and all seven rockets from my rocket launcher, all I've managed to do is take out it's shields and maybe 1/8 to a 1/4 of it's health. And that's if it doesn't glitch teleport across the map. I honestly don't bother with the Target if I'm alone because I know I either won't do enough damage in time to stop it, or it will just glitch across the map jumping from 1 checkpoint to the last. (-blam!-ing bullshit I might add.) Give us harder patrols, or multi-objective patrols. Make public events more meaningful and in the process make them worth the time doing them. Edit number 2: Defend the warsat... From a fallen walker!
