And when I took my job, they specifically told me there's a possibility I'd work on christmas. Tough tits when you have a kid. To think you shouldn't have to work on a holiday is entitlement. As shitty as this country is, the only reason it works is because it's awake 24/7. I'm entitled to what I spent my hard earned money (from working on christmas, away from my family) last year. I payed money for a system. I expect a free game. Especially seeing as Microsoft was up FASTER, and is giving away 2 free games. I payed for a subscription, I expect my 3 days unused to be redeemed to my account. I payed for a game, I expect to be able to get things that were missed from my downtime. I payed for this sandwich. I -blam!-ing expect for myself to be satisfied, and it not give me food poisoning. If it doesn't hold to the standard I PAYED for then yes, expect to be asked for a refund. Especially if this is the 2nd time that the sandwich gave me food poisoning. Last year Sony was out for a month, with promises of new infrastructure... this won't be happening next year. #XBox

So when they tell is we are going to fix the problem so it doesn't happen again, and then it happens again and again yes that should piss people off that invest there time and money using there services. I work 40+ a week am married with kids and when a holiday comes around where I get time off, I like most gamers enjoy the opportunity to play my gaming system. Another idiot. You are providing a point of sale not a 24/7 service. Something goes wrong people usually entitled to a 14 day return policy (UK example). Any 24/7 service will have people working 24/7 to ensure that that service is maintained. Other examples would be phone, tv and internet services that would be handing out compensation after a 24 hour period for loss of service. Don't be an idiot... If you can help it.

Heck, I work for a medium sized company and if some of the central servers went down over Christmas I would be expected to show up and fix them and that's just maybe 2000 or so internal company users. IT is a whole different ballgame. As an IT professional I expect a team of engineers to be working on this 24/7 (in shifts, not always the same people) until it's 100% up and running. Especially with millions of people without service. If I worked for Sony as a network engineer I would expect to be working these days.

The problem is that you are paying for this. And because you paid for a service one expects it to be reliable to a certain point. If the service is broke it don't really matter what day it is. People expect it to be fixed...and they all have a valid point. There might be people who can only play fri sat and sun because of work or family. So they dont deserve getting the shaft either. So dont jua look at it as poor Sony and let them enjoy thier time off when some peoples time off is to enjoy a game.
